Castlefields Canal & River Park — Attraction in Calne

This park is set on the banks of the river Marden which run through and out of the centre of Calne in Wiltshire,we love going for a walk in this place,throughout the year the flora and fauna changes with the different seasons,it is abundant with wildlife,there are several routes you can take on foot or by cycle you can go all the way to Chippenham if you wish,there are still remains of the old Wilts and Berks canal,with the river walks to follow there is plenty to see,then there is an area which is an outside gymnasium with various bits of training equipment for the fit and energetic,so there is something for everyone,this place is well worth a visit.....please be responsible by picking up your dogs mess and taking your rubbish home to dispose of it in the correct manner,to keep these places clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy.Thank you. Castlefields canal & river park in winter,went for a lovely walk today the 2nd of February 2019 to take some nice photos of the area covered in snow,with the children playing on their sledges and people walking their dogs it’s a lovely place to visit any time of the year.do you find this review helpful if so give it a 👍...

What a shame to see the area in such a poor state. Hopefully, the boat will be repaired soon, along with rebuilding the walls. Could do with more bins as my grandson ended up clearing drink cans from some of...

A nice place for a walk, cycle or run., it even has static exercise equipment that is well maintained. There are information boards pointing to the history of the place and a natural spring which also works...
