Infusions Tea Room — Restaurant in England

Popped into Infusions a few months back when visiting family in Calne.

On this visit the drinks took ridiculously long to be made and brought over, which is insane considering we were the only table there. It’s likely the staff are on high alert, as from what I’ve just learned the current management are just as abusive as the previous owner…

The food and drink quality had always been good at Infusions, but we stopped visiting years ago after the old owner was abusive to a young girl we knew. She walked out crying while we were there. It is heartbreaking that grown adults will bully young staff and take advantage of their need for a job / lack of work experience. Avoid giving money to this ‘establishment’.

There are many other cafes in Calne and in the area which are far more deserving of custom. I recommend Fay’s Bistro down by the river. Beautiful atmosphere, often busy yet well managed, the food is served quickly and is always excellent quality. Bonus points: the staff...

Really disappointed with my experience here today. Sat outside and a menu was bought to the 3 us. 15 minutes later the waitress came to let us know we have to go inside to order our food and pay in advance because there’s been an issue with people walking away without paying. As customers we didn’t need to know that and ‘please come in and order when you’re order’ would have been ample. When ordering I asked for butter separate to the toast - this didn’t happen. It came out buttered, so the other 2 ate it to save it being wasted. Asked for another slice of PLAIN toast and was asked to pay £1.50 because the other toast had been eaten!!!! It was one of the few occasions I stumbled upon a tea room 🫖 !!! I have to say I was impressed with the variety of teas 😲. The owners were super friendly and welcoming too.

I went for a Chinese oolong tea with a slice of lemon cake🍋. There were also gluten free and vegan cake options too if you are interested (e.g. vegan lemon slice, gluten free carrot cake). The tea was amazing and I had at least 3 cups worth and the cake was just right, size and taste wise.

I really liked the teapot and teacup set, it added even more of a tea room feeling. Don't get me started about the little pink hourglass ⏳️💕

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the waiting time was a bit long. Other than that everything else was excellent. I noticed, or my nose did, that they also served food. Maybe one for the next...
