A shingle beach, old fashioned feel to it, which is fine by me! Very popular with swimmers and families. Some parts of the beach shelve quite steeply in places, others nice and flat - easy to see when the tide is out. Lots of activities around the beach area - arcades, crazy golf, gardens, play areas, and fish and chips, of course! A lovely pier (which is where Google have taken their photo from). My photos are looking back towards the pier after two days out with the family there. Definitely worth a visit if you want to enjoy a classic, east Kent seaside town.

Full of rude, loud and desperate people who can’t control their dogs…so basically the English. Pebble beach and a high street that was left behind about a century ago. If you want to get a sense of being in a lovecraftian book, then this is the place for you, except the people are more ugly than those found in innsmouth. Don’t believe people if they say herne bay is picturesque, because it isn’t at all. Stick to Whitstable or better yet go abroad. People like to seem to gather at the sewage outlet signs, perhaps they worship the effluence? Making it even more lovecraftian. If you want to be on a beach with no peace, constant jet skiers that sound like revving cars and people playing music then this is for you.

Been coming here for 62 years, my mum used to push me in the pram up and down the promenade and pier for the very first part. The beach on the the west side of the pier is the best place to head in the summer. The Bandstand has many activities in the summer nearby with a good cafe. The pier has also many activities for the kids and a range of mini shops in the huts. The views from beach are not really much to talk about but always the lookout to sea bright and clear. The Maunsell Forts can also be seen from the beach here clearly out at sea.

Herne Bay is the quintessential British seaside resort. It has everything from the shingle on the beach to the colourful beach huts all topped of with a selection of fish and chip shops. With a backdrop of grand Victorian architecture and a pier to boot this is the perfect place to prop up the deck chair and pop on your knotted hanky. The beach at Herne Bay is also great for families. There is sheltered bathing behind the breakwater and everything you need close at hand. In summers finding parking can be a challenge!

Herne bay is a pleasant small seaside town in kent , south east England. Beach is pebbles so bring ur own light chair to maximise your seaside experience! There are many fish n chip restaurants along with ice cream parlours and even a wetherspoons. Not forgetting the arcade ! All important part of a seaside resort! Also has a small pier with many little stalls and odd shop selling windmills for kids and the usual gifts, bucket and spades etc. Fun filled days😍

This is a lovely area to visit, nicely designed sign posts and there is a lovely community here. There is also a little area celebrating Amy Johnson a famous aviatrix local to the area, that was a refreshing idea as don’t see a lot of woman being celebrated for their own achievements. This area is a place for couples and/or families to come and enjoy the views or utilise the arcades when they open at some point.
