Love going down to the beach, herne bay have just invested in brand new wood for the wave breaker defense system. The beach now has a stunning now look and will no doubt attract more people to come and visit the sea side if they haven't already done so. They have a child friendly play park in Hampton and a sandy bit across from the arcades if you'd prefer to play or sit on the sand rather the pebbles and another play park up by the clock tower. This beach has so many fish and chip shops just across the road and cafes situated Alond the beach as well as many other food shops. Neptune car park is where you can park and even have a place there you can put your boats and other water sport machines into the water and go and have some fun. There parking practically all down the left hand side of the beach aswell, plus many many more places...

Review by a 12yr old: Herne bay is one of the best beaches I have been to. I went with my parents and my brother and we all enjoyed it. When we first arrived my mum wasnt very happy with the fact that there is no sand. But for me that didnt matter. When went we were in lockdown and it was perfect. It was soooooo empty the temperature that day was around 34 degreesso it was a perfect day. The sea was really warm and ant that time it was surprisingly really shallow. The water is very clear also and we even saw some small fish. Another thing is that you are allowed to bring dogs so anyone that has a dog and wants to bring them with them, herne bay is the place. There is alot of beach in herne bay and some bits are busier than others. I rate herne bay...

Full of rude, loud and desperate people who can’t control their dogs…so basically the English. Pebble beach and a high street that was left behind about a century ago.

If you want to get a sense of being in a lovecraftian book, then this is the place for you, except the people are more ugly than those found in innsmouth.

Don’t believe people if they say herne bay is picturesque, because it isn’t at all. Stick to Whitstable or better yet go abroad.

People like to seem to gather at the sewage outlet signs, perhaps they worship the effluence? Making it even more lovecraftian.

If you want to be on a beach with no peace, constant jet skiers that sound like revving cars and people playing music then...

Well recommend this beach for stress free family fun, friends day out, motorbike meets or a isolated day out. Nice large car park as well as street parking, unfortunately you have to pay for both, unless your on a motorbike then park infront of the old clock tower for free. A nice walkway with gardens, childrens play area, grand/bandstand with public toilets, sandy beach as well as a pebbly beach, pier, amusements and restaurants/ ice cream places, cafes etc all stretched along the front. It was nice and quiet and the staff in every pub etc i visited were lovley. A rarity nowadays but they also had cold water showers on the beachfront. Dog friendly, wheelchair friendly.

A shingle beach, old fashioned feel to it, which is fine by me! Very popular with swimmers and families. Some parts of the beach shelve quite steeply in places, others nice and flat - easy to see when the tide is out. Lots of activities around the beach area - arcades, crazy golf, gardens, play areas, and fish and chips, of course! A lovely pier (which is where Google have taken their photo from). My photos are looking back towards the pier after two days out with the family there. Definitely worth a visit if you want to enjoy a classic, east Kent seaside town.
