We popped into the Seaside Museum in Herne Bay when the weather turned, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the day. We were greeted by Stan, who was brilliant — friendly, welcoming, and gave us a quick rundown of what to see and where to start. He also handed out some activity sheets for the kids, which kept them really engaged while we wandered.
If you’re into old photos, quirky displays, and a bit of local nostalgia, this place hits the mark. Read moreWe visited on Saturday 12th September 2020. There is clear guidance on the website and upon arrival as to procedures in accordance with the Government regulations in respect of COVID. A friendly welcome and explanation as to the current restrictions on displays. An interesting description of the history of the pier was presented by the warden. In trust it will be practical for the museum to return to sharing and showing full exhibitions in the near future as the local history is fascinating. In the interim we can contribute to the local community by visiting and donating to invest in a wonderful resource for all generations. Thank you to all the volunteers helping to maintain a limited service now and working towards full interaction with the visitors...

Roman to 20th century exhibits, set out nicely in display cases and dioramas. Very good gift shop! Good accessibility with handrails both sides of stairs and a small lift. Well...
