Very easy to get in and out of great parking prices BUT be aware that the car park closes at 6.30 we arrived at 6.15 to go around the corner for a this meal when you drive in there is a neon sign rolling round saying ticketless parking it really should have closing time on it we walked out the car park but none of saw the tiny writing to tell you closing time the prices are readable from a distance but the times is tiny and you can't see it until your a foot away we came back for our vehicles to a locked up car park 4 young children.4 panicking Adults we live about 20 miles away and were out for a celebration hi ust has we were getting to ultra panic the night security man came round he was the most lovley man you could wish to meet he helped us to retrieve our car and my son his work van IF YOU HAVE A EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR HE SHOULD GET IT HE WAS A GOD SEND and the most important thing he wanted to get across to us was don't let it put us off going back because Chesterfield is a lovley place to visit he said please come back which we definitely will because of him and his lovley manner 😁 I WOULD JUST LIKE HIM TO KNOW THAT WE WERE VERY THANKFUL...

Looks like they are remodelling the market place area so nothing to see there... As usual I had difficulty finding somewhere to eat (gluten free) but I did find an old English cafe, The Vintage Tea Rooms, Steeplegate, who had food to offer instead of just the usual prepackaged cakes. Even though it was nearly closing time, I was still offered the menu. I chose the Vintage afternoon tea and it was worth the £10 cost. Small portions (I am a bit greedy) but very nice. The place was olde worldly, clean and had appropriate decor for the times. The people were friendly even though it was the end of their working day. If I ever go to Chesterfield again I would certainly revisit them. I believe they also cater for vegan/vegetarians so...
Read moreParked my car here recently. On coming back to pay, I typed my car reg in, paid in cash then drove to the barrier with my car....nothing. The barrier wouldn't lift, sat there for a good 2 minutes at which time there was about 6 cars waiting behind me so I started to get panicky since I suffer with my nerves, this was not a good situation to be in! Really didnt know what to do, couldn't understand why it wasnt letting me out...ended up pressing the assistance bell. She was helpful and ended up letting me out but she falsely told me that I put in my reg number in wrong which I knew I didnt...Very embarrassing and not a nice...
