A wonderful place to visit! We attended a family fun day and it was excellent. There were 3 different film showings in the planetarium - we saw 2 of these with a break in-between. Moon Landings and the Hunt for Alien Life. Both very good and visually very exciting. All the volunteers were excellent and very friendly. We were shown different kinds of rocks and fossils, maps of Mars showing evidence of rivers, handled meteorite samples, and got to look at the sun through specialist telescopes. Other activities included: dressing up, giant night sky jigsaw, and crafts including colouring in, making a comet, and visiting the ISS using VR headsets. The kids enjoyed themselves very much. Gift shop was small and excellent: 95% under £4, good pocket money prices. Full disabled access, inc toilets.

Have been twice now and I can’t fault this place…! Both shows were GREAT, and you can just tell that all the staff there is genuinely passionated and happy to be there! Would recommend 100%. (Small tip: arrive early to avoid the seats on the edges that don’t recline)

I would highly recommend visiting, we’ve been a few times now with my 10 year old autistic son, who loves everything space!

John is a fantastic speaker, not only is his knowledge truly amazing, he is also a very motivating speaker. I truly believe he has been very inspirational for my son, who has learnt so much from his talks and now wants to go on to study Astronomy.

All the staff are generally passionate about what they do, my son has high anxiety and struggles in social environments and the staff have been so friendly and happy to make adjustments to support him by letting him in first. Without their kindness and support I’m not sure he would have felt relaxed enough to to access this experience.

Thank you so much for all your...

Great morning out, we turned up unannounced when the centre was actually closed to the public as google said it was open, we were welcomed in open arms by the friendly staff there all who are volunteers I might add, they not only opened up the gift shop to buy souvenirs but also put on an impromptu show in the auditorium, the lady who did the lecture was fantastic showing us the wonders of the night sky, including the moon cycle, stars and constellations and planets, allowing us to ask questions and probe for further info. They couldn’t have done more for us bearing in mind they weren’t even open to the public and were probably in the middle of training or preparing for another...
