Asteria Restaurant — Restaurant in Chichester

This was our second visit to Piddes and we will definitely be coming back again ! Unfortunately we lack pics from the first time when we had wraps and a big grill which is a theatrical dish that pleases all senses ! Today we opted out to try the pizza and few sides. We’ve never had more astonishing hummus than the one from today, silky and cloudy like texture will tickle your mouth while a subtle hint of cumin gently uplifts the whole experience! Feta and sun-dried tomato wraps were crispy on the outside and bursted out in flavour once you take that first bite ! The mixed olives give your pallet a new hint of flavour which each bite. I can not express the love we have for the sauces ( not in the picture ) creamy garlic sauce with refreshing mint goes a long way with the soft lamb. However the true hero is the chilli sauce ! The right amount of heat, herbs and lemon will elevate any dish without overpowering it, such a faultless addition. The decor and atmosphere give a little Turkish glam which is a perfect introduction of what you can expect on your plate. A little astonishing Pearl finally hit Chichester, a magnificent place to dine for prices so so low ! Good food, disappointing service.

I was headed to a certain Portuguese chicken restaurant when I was allured in to Piddes by the look of the food on the menu.

I wanted a chicken shish wrap. I requested extra chicken. The front of house staff were lovely and went to check with the kitchen about the extra chicken. I was told that the extra chicken would double the price (all bar £1) of the wrap! So I decided to go for a single portion. No biggie.

I think this must have annoyed the chap in the kitchen though because I was told the wait time (takeaway) would be 5-10 minutes. I eventually got my food 25 minutes later.

The restaurant wasn’t busy, it had 3 tables occupied at the time, 2 were already eating and one was yet to put in their order.

To their credit, the front of house staff were lovely and I did get an apology for the length of time it took.

I feel 3 stars is a fair and honest reflection of my experience because the food was actually great! I would happily go again, I would just hope that the service is much...

We had a negative experience on entry, unfortunately. We were on route home with a long drive ahead of us and stopped off to feed our baby dinner, get a drink and some dinner ourselves. The restaurant was empty at 6pm and we walked in to be seated. My husband said are we OK if we just get a drink and before he could even finish his sentence (to say we just need to feed the baby first, then we can work out what food we want etc). They waiter said no, you can only come in if yor order food. This made me feel uncomfortable and not want to even consider ordering our dinner in there. I've never had that before and we were trying to find somewhere quiet to feed our baby his dinner. We ended up going to Nandos next door and the waiter was so lovely and welcoming. We fed our baby, had a refreshing coke and then our dinner. Finally, got back on the road with a happy, sleepy baby. Such a disappointing experience as we love...
