Have been going to this pub for years, it has been Pub #1 on my Chichester pub crawl for the past decade before I moved away.
Recently re-visited as I was in the area and it's kept its charm. Welcoming and busy, it's a great pub.
I paid over £10 for two bottles of cider however, which I think is a bit much, I think around £4 each is the correct price in this current climate, especially at a time when pubs are wanting people to come, stay and drink multiple drinks.
The placement of the pub is another highlight however, with a view of the canal and access to some lovely walks. On the other hand, I would advise this pub to become dog friendly. As it is situated so close to the canal walk, dog walkers ending a stroll along the canal would be a good new customer clientele...

However there are some things I'd recommend they improve on regarding the mens toilets: Create an hour rota to check the state of them (I was there for a good couple of hours yesterday evening and empty bottles and tissues around the sinks were not cleared away). Check toilet paper (one was empty the whole time). Fix soap dispenser on wall or remove the fixing. Put some posters in the empty frames above the urinals. Clean the black crud on the floor tiles and just generally give them a deep clean. One of those timed air fresheners put on the wall might be a good idea as well, along with some new signs on the front of all...
Read moreProbably the ugliest building in Chichester (a quaint Roman town) looking like a 1960's brick build with no character. Inside though, it is quite modern (toilets are clean and modern design). Only a small pub and small range of drinks. 3 cask ale taps on bar but not in use. Don't think their clientelle appreciate it as the only craft beer on offer tastes like it hasn't been poured for quite a while. One bar staff on who was polite and welcoming. Unless it was the only pub for 20 miles, I don't see me returning here when I next work...
