I get first rate all round service from lner usually, but what'sgoing on with the coffee machines in edinburgh just now?
i use lner a lot and they usually give the best customer service from the very first point of contact in the first class lounge at edinburgh before i board the train, but today, BOTH coffee machines were out of service, AGAIN, and they havent worked for a wee while.
i'm a bit of a coffee snob to be fair and my preference is for freshly brewed coffee at the start of my journey, always, and this simple pleasure is being denied me so i do hope someone @ lner will look into this and have the coffee machines fixed asap?
the big tv screen at the entrance to the lounge hasnt worked for a wee while either so i do hope these problems can be fixed without any further delay.
on the plus side, i have no complaints about the girls working in the lounge... they got me some filter coffee and were very good at going round everyone with train departure and platform updates. the on train experience is great also.... just need to get some maintenance done on these coffee machines and the big tv screen in the lounge then there'll nothing left for me to...
Read moreUnbelievable. On entering there was no hello or welcome. The lady behind the counter ignored us and refused to acknowledge us. Instead we received a gruff "mate there is really nothing upstairs, nothings working and theres no food or drink" from a Male member of staff coming from behind a door. The staff member then started to ooh and ahh and then proceeded to inform me that he guessed it would be ok. Again, unbelievable. This was at 14.45, our train is at 16.30. I am pretty sure this was more than ok. The attitude of both team member was bizarre. Was it my accent? The colour if my skin? The time of day? Whatever it was was totally out of order. My partner went to use the restroom. These were out of order. The only available WC had excrement on the floor and walls and someone had urinated on the floor. I'm puzzled to find anything first class about this lounge. My advice,...

Up on the first floor of one of the station buildings, it's not particularly accessible either, especially with luggage but there is a lift.
Was being cleaned when I visited and obviously had been heavily used that day. Not a great choice of snacks or drinks. A lot of stuff not working- shower broken, coffee machine looked out of action, multiple plug points taped up.
One member of staff there, really friendly, trying their best.
Wouldn't bother next time- would just find a place to eat or get a drink outside the station- there's plenty of...
