Congleton Museum is low on space, but they use it very well! Lots of information about different periods, as well as how we know about these times in Congleton's history. There is an interactive aspect to most of the exhibits and it would be very engaging for children as well as generally accessible to people with limited mobility or those who use a wheelchair. There is a small shop in the entrance, well-stoked with history books, postcards, small gift items and calendars, and the volunteer staff were very helpful! I definitely recommend a visit to this small, but precious, gem!

Lovely little museum with plenty of fascinating artefacts from the area including a log boat from 930AD and a burial urn from 1500BC. There's information about local industry and former mayor John Bradshaw who signed King Charles I's death warrant. Free of charge but deserves to get a donation from visitors. Hopefully local schools bring children to it. Would have liked to have known why G H Eardley got his VC.

Can't believe this small but mighty museum is free! So much thought has been put in it which makes it a treasure in its own right. Loved seeing the hoards of coins found by detectorists as well as learning about the history: the Romans, Bronze age, the Civil War, Industrial revolution and WWII. Every major era in one room - what a mavellous way to engage and educate a local primary school kid. Very well done 👏

Congleton Museum is a really good little place to visit, its very quaint and can fill a couple of hours of anybody's time, there is one room downstairs which has got alot of stories about the history of congleton and waxwork figures telling stories of who they were and what happened in their time, there are also sliding boards with life size paintings on them of characters telling different stories of what they did for jobs in their time, really friendly staff who gladly explained what there was to do and see. Upstairs there are old photos of congleton showing how its evolved over the years and more stories There was an old ww2 veteran named Bill who was sat at the desk in the entrance who very kindly told us some stories about when the war was on and how he survived. Well...

I have friends nearby who've lived in congleton over 10yrs and havent been there. Only saw a temp sign on a lamp post by chance. It's a fantastic place for anyone to visit. Free to enter, but donations appreciated. Great interactive displays. Well thought out and laid out. Great for tourists too if you have a spare harf hour. Use it whilst its there. Even with volunteer staff, it's the type of place that local authorities close to balance the books. Desperately needs a finger post at the end of the road. No baby changing facilities, but...
