Congleton Paddling Pool — Local services in Congleton

The pool itself is 5 stars without doubt. Unfortunately the booking system is horrendous. I managed to get tickets for me and my son after about a month of trying and there were maybe 50 people there the whole time ( 140 tickets were sold ) meaning almost 100 people didnt turn up. People book multiple slots on all days in advance and don't bother turning up, meaning many other parents cannot take their children and enjoy a pool that we pay extra in our council tax for. I have many fond memories of the pool from when I was a child in the 90s, and again when my oldest was little about 10 years ago but I cannot say the same about it now. So had to queue for 30 minutes before gaining entry. Whilst waiting with my 5 year old grandson there were a lot of older children in with their siblings, despite parents also in attendance on the sidelines. Totally unfair as they were taking up valuable spaces when the pool clearly had many spaces available. Also, picnics were had by all despite advertising this was not allowed, as were inflatables, balls and other games which were 'not' allowed. When I questioned the attendant he said was nothing to do with him - seriously???? What the hell is the point when the attendant does NOT enforce pool rules. Pretty useless...

Pool looks amazing and heard how fab it is , after several attempts to put our names on the waiting list, I last got emails at 10pm to say slots had became available I had my phone in my hand so acted immediately and when I got through still had no joy of being able to get tickets for 2 excited girls. Poor system , so many genuine people losing out due to others booking and not showing up .
