Great car park and service provided by Swanage Railway during the day. Just a word of warning to users of the evening service. We used this service last night and even though we had been advised the car park would remain open until 11pm and there was a board clearly stating this on arrival, we found ourselves locked in at 10.40 pm. Luckily the problem was sorted within 40 minutes. Otherwise a great day on the railway and local area just an unfortunate ending to...

Cute rail station with a coal mining museum that is free only asks a £1 donation. Big play area for children shaped like a train which was lovely. There are refreshments available for purchase on the platform and toilets, the staff are super lovely and have a lot of passion for restoring and preserving the railway. Nice day out for a train ride to Swanage and Corfe castle. The tickets are pretty pricey at £15 return but worth it to contribute to this bit of...

Great place to park up for Corfe Castle & surrounding areas. @£3.20 (August '16) for the whole day we thought this was great considering a lot of the beaches are £9 +! There is a seasonal bus service to Corfe and the Swanage railway is just a few minutes walk, or it's an easy 20 inute pleasent walk to Corfe. The parking area had toilets and would be suitable for a picnic. Opens 8am through to late. About 11 I think to match the last train back...

Kids absolutely loved the steam train. Great for everybody and takes you back in time with an authentic experience of what it would have been like to travel in that era. Bit pricey at £15 a return ticket for an adult but I guess it all helps maintain it to a high standard. Kids under 5 travel for free so that helped us keep the cost down. Makes a great day out as swanage is such a lovely little seaside town.
