The garden was lovely but the food and service were awful! We ordered one pie of day, two kids meals, one burger ,two chips (because they didn't serve chip with burger& pie) and two hot dogs for lunch on Sat 31st May 22. The cottage pie served with one carrot and few chewy boiled kale ( cost ÂŁ14), one portion of chips came along with one kid meal. Another portion of chips came after 30mints. Then The girl served another kid meal but dropping the chips by accident, so she said she will bring some more chips later but never came back.
Over an hour our burger and two hot dogs didn't turn up. I went to the bar and asked what happened. Then two staff went down to the end of BBQ area that spoke to another guy who supposed to serve our rest orders. They started blaming each other and making excuses( error for the machine in the bar, dont know what happened...etc).
I asked for refunds and the guy ( someone in charge) apologised to us and offered another drink to us, we accepted 3 coffee and a tea. It took another 20mints for making the hot drinks( there was only our table left need to be served). Four hot drinks didn't serve on the same time, one coffee and a tea first, then one by one for those two coffees. The coffees we're the worst I had ever! The coffees served as black coffee and sharing a small jug of milk with the tea together.
I never complained when we went out for a meal but here yesterday was a disappointing experience in...
Read moreLovely big beer garden Garden benches could do with a proper scrub (mix of old and new) Good choice of ales and ciders, well kept, decent pub grub Friendly, welcoming service (even sausages for the dog!) On service & food would say this is the best pub in Corfe
We ate at The Fox in Corfe Castle twice while staying in the village, and both times outside in the beer garden â partly because the weather was good, partly because the pub was busy inside (good thing overall). It turned out to be the right call, as the garden is a lovely big space, dog-friendly, and a great spot to enjoy a pint.
Food-wise, itâs hard to fault for pub grub. Everything was freshly made, portions were generous, and the homemade pie was excellent â proper & hearty. Drinks were great too, with a good choice of ales and ciders, all well kept. Service was friendly and relaxed both visits, and they even sorted sausages for the dog, which was a nice touch.
Couple of downsides: the garden benches arenât the cleanest â a mix of new and old, with some in need of a proper scrub â and the toilets could do with a bit of attention.
All in though, itâs a very decent village pub â good food, friendly staff, local drinks, and a cracking garden if the weatherâs on your side....
Read moreA group of my friends and I went to this restaurant, we sat on two different tables. One of the tables had not been cleared and still had the previous occupants drinks and menu, we had to ask for this to be removed even though the servers told us to occupy this table. We all ordered roasts at the same time, but one table received theirs within 10 minutes, but the other table had to wait 45 minutes. By the time the food was received, the first table had eaten and were long finished with their food. Staff did not update and were rude when asked for an update. When the food finally came it was of poor quality, the meats were dry, as well as the potatoes and nut roast. Additionally the cauliflower was mushy and inedible. There was also no gravy for the nut roast, with servers unsure of the contents of the gravy. Most of us did not finish the meals. No apology was given and as we paid almost as soon as we ordered no refund or discount was provided. Very disappointing and would...
