If you are thinking about using Snowbility, I would say go for it, don't hesitate as it's such a great experience.
My son has had four sessions so far and is loving it, each week we have to count down the sleeps until it's time to go again!
Despite being so eager to ski, It has been a slow process because he has sensory issues, and can get overwhelmed and distracted particularly if it starts to get busy. He hates new shoes and we even have a lot of trouble just going to Clarks for school shoes, but yesterday, with lots of attention, encouragement and cheering from Lesley and Richard he finally put the ski boots on meaning that he is now in full kit! I am so happy because it is a huge step for him. He is so pleased with himself and made me send photoâs to his teacher so he can show his friends.
He is having so much fun and I cannot thank Lesley and Richard enough for their time. They have so much time, patience and understanding of his needs, he cannot speak but is very communicative in his own way which Lesley and Richard make sure to listen to. Itâs because of this, he is making progress each week. I am so please I did...
Read moreWeâd read glowing reviews of Snowbility, but nothing could have prepared us for the complete confidence, exceptional skill, warmth, inclusive spirit and FUN of our 6yr oldâs introductory skiing lesson. Richardâs many years of experience (and his clear love for his Snowbility âfamilyâ and excitement for everyone they teach) shine through. From the off he assumed competence and let Gene, who is autistic and non-speaking, get settled in his skis and on the snow before supporting him down the slope in a snow plough, on guide ropes. And giving him chances in a 2:1 instructor set-up with the equally wonderful instructor Daniel, to slide for short, controlled bursts alone to practice his balance and control. Geneâs dad and I felt incredibly secure and excited, watching from the viewing platform. Just relaxing and having a coffee, which was something of a miracle in itself for a Saturday! Gene has requested skiing about 20 times since we left The Snow Centre. No greater praise. We will absolutely be back and we canât wait. Thank you,...
Read moreI was recommended to book my daughter in to see Richard prior to our holiday. Past experience of skiing for her have been quite traumatic. Highly charged emotions with physical side effects. This was a huge mountain for her to climb. Richard met her and within a couple of minutes she was very happy to be in his company and went for her lesson. Within half an hour I saw my daughter smiling chatting and learning and having fun! Her attention span is generally 5-10 minutes on average and Richard had her captivated and engaged for the full 2 hours. I cannot thank you enough. This wasnât just a huge mountain for my daughter to climb but as her mum who could write a book on what itâs been like in our world for the past 6 years finding the help she needs with education etc. This is a massive positive tick. I can take her away knowing her last experience on snow was an amazing one and more importantly a really happy one. Thank you so much to everyone who Iâve been in contact with regarding this and thank you Richard. You are...
