Lovely park to catch some shelter from the sea breeze or shade from the sun. There's a lovely picnic/wildlife area off to one side - although the bins probably need emptying more. We were parked over the other side of Sidmouth so a long walk from the free parking we found, could probably do with more free parking on that side of Sidmouth (where its not outside someone's home) a the parking in the main parking areas is very expensive! To the south of the Byes you can follow the river to the coast (some street walking) and there's a pedestrian bridge at the ford crossing the river Sid, where you can watch the cars etc fording the river without...
Read moreWe love the byes and visit there daily. We've spotted otters along with squirrels and various birds. There are quite a few different trees and the smell of them is lovely. The path has plenty of benches so you can sit and take in the beautiful area. There are dog walkers and cyclists which use the cycle path. Some go to meditate in quieter times and others use it to walk through towards the town centre. It's clean with enough bins to keep it that way. I would recommend a visit and if it's warm take a picnic as there is a designated picnic area but no dogs allowed into. I would give this place 11/10...
Read moreIf there was an option to give 10 stars I would give 10. We had a fantastic time in this place. It is perfect for dog owners with lots of doggy bins and lots of space to run around in. The trees are just amazing. They are so big and majestic. You just know that they have stood there probably 100s of years and stood the test of time. It is a lovely clean river that our dog enjoyed splashing around in and cooling off. No rubbish and trolleys making it look unsightly.
