Canterbury House B&B — Hotel in East Devon

This place is simply brilliant and I can't recommend enough Canterbury House as a place to stay whenever you are in the Sidmouth.

We certainly wouldn't stay anywhere else having discovered this absolute hidden gem!

The customer service and friendliness of the owners (Marc and Jan) were much beyond any expectation we had and they were so welcoming and so so helpful. Arrive as guests - leave as friends doesn't begin to describe it!

The rooms were both HUGE and spotless - The Hotel Inspector wouldn't find any problems with this place - and the WiFi signal was both strong and stable

Bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was SUPERB - possibly the best breakfast we've ever had from a B&B.

Location is really good too being close to the River Sid and an easy, riverside, amble to the sea front (passing the nearby Ford) or a stroll in the other direction leads you through the town centre (with a huge number of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs) down to the sea

Also conveniently located just around the corner from the cinema for those rainy Sidmouth days!

We've went away for 2 days and wished we had booked for 7 as we couldn't fault anything about the Canterbury House .

Make sure you book to stay here in the future - we wouldn't stay...

Marc and Jan are the perfect hosts. Well presented bedrooms with everything you could possibly need. Two of our party have mobility issues and Marc offered to install a hand rail in the shower. It was lovely to be able wrap the white fluffy towels around you, no bath towels here only bath sheets!|Ample toiletries provided along with cotton pads. buds and shower cap. Bed was comfortable with pristine bed linen.
