ANCHORSHOLME PARK HAS IT ALL

There’s lots of volunteers that work very hard for free in the park, especially both of the “Paul’s” to keep it so tidy and colourful.

It’s a great place for responsible dog walkers and their dogs plus for children to play in the safe enclosed play area.

There’s also a tennis court football court and basketball court for those with the energy and after using all that energy up go in the lovely Cafe for a snack or meal.

Finally after all that as your leaving the park call in for a game of bowls or why not try boules - (there’s a much posher word to describe that but I’m not a good speller especially in French).

There’s bands on and other entertainments like a fairground and stalls in summer.

So plenty of to do for the young and old, you may even see our cocker spaniel and war hero...

Had a lovely day out on Sunday with the grandkids shame about the cafe we went there looking for something nice to eat asked for a breakfast to be told they not doing breakfast asked for a bacon sandwich and told again they are not doing them so kids had a kids meal and we ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 plates of chips and we had 3 coffee's the milk was off kids meals came and the sandwiches but waited another 30 minutes for the chips which looked like they been cooked over and over by then we had enough of waiting I never had such bad food before and to charge £40.00 for food we left madness there was no point complaining as they were not listening to what anyone was say I will never eat there again it was a shame to end a nice day like that but it a lesson learnt and...

My little boy needed to let off some steam, it's a fab area for a mixed age range. Has toilets and cafe as well as tennis courts so not just a park. Plenty of green area for ball games too though not completely fenced off from surrounding roads. Lack of free parking around though so either pay and display on the prom or small walk from main road. (Would advise against parking in Lidl and surrounding roads as local traffic wardens are ruthless)

A good place for children to play with a lot of variety. Very well organised with padded/soft floors to lessen impact/injury in case there is a fall. There's a nice café on site although the place closes at 3pm. A variety of meals and iced cream are available. Be ready to spend 3 to 4 hours at the park.
