If you are after fine dining in sumptuous surroundings - go elsewhere! If you want a clean comfortable cafe where you can get home cooked food this is the place for you. It's very reasonably priced and the range of food is wide, from breakfast to roast dinners, sandwiches to a mixed grill, burgers, jacket potatoes, toasties. It has a lovely family atmosphere and the customers seems to be mostly locals who are regulars (which says a lot) however, as a visitor you are treated as if you are a friend. The cakes and gateaux are all made on the premises and are delicious (I can personally vouch for the cherry gateau and the strawberry gateau). Well behaved dogs are welcome at one end of the café. It is licensed so if you want a drink with your meal, you can. I also attended a party where the Carousel has provided the buffet, they put plenty of filling in the sandwiches!!! It was a fantastic spread and (I was told by the party organisers) that it was very reasonably priced. Overall, cracking place,...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem this is just off the main road in the centre of Cleveleys on King's Road off Victoria Road West I went with a friend and we opted for the 3 course meal at £8.95, excellent value for money as the individual item cost exceeded that price. There is an extensive selection of food from light bites to main meals and a specials board as soon as you walk in. We both had the tomato and pepper soup with roll and butter, which was a hearty bowl in itself. 2nd course was a turkey dinner with stuffing and for dessert home made trifle. You could have had another 5 options for dessert. We had a cup of tea but there is a licensed bar for beers, wines and spirits at reasonable prices. It wasn't that busy when we went but I've seen it busier and you can sit outside. It has toilet facilities for able and disabled people. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I shall be recommending this café to friends and will definitely be...
Read moreVisited on a Tuesday lunchtime. A lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside. First impressions were it looked clean and tidy. A fairly extensive menu with a good range of options. Staff were pleasant and friendly. I went with the Mixed Grill at £19.95. My fellow diner went with the Fish and Chip Special at £12.50. You get fish, chips, peas, slice of bread and butter and a pot of tea. So prices were pretty reasonable. The Mixed Grill was huge. I couldn’t finish it. So no complaints about quantity but being honest it wasn’t the best quality. Some of the meat was a bit tough and definitely didn’t care for the sausage. However, the chips were good and someone knows how to fry an egg properly. Overall no complaints about our visit here. It was okay, a run of the mill dining experience. However, there was nothing special or different about it that would have us rushing back to...
