We visited as part of a history and heritage package and didn't know what to expect. However, Paula, the manager, was expecting us and welcomed us to the museum. She gave us a full tour of the gardens and museum. She was unbelievably knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The gardens are well laid out and in keeping with the house and period. There is plenty of information about the planting scheme. Unfortunately the weather this year was not kind and what had survived the hot weather got a severe lashing by the wind on the day we visited. The museum is well laid out and has plenty of information about the exhibits. Like many independent museums, it is reliant on all sorts of scraps of funding. These seem to be well used and they're in the process of upgrading some of the rooms and exhibits. So, it's only going to get better. Our only disappointment was that would could only spend a couple of hours there although we now have an annual pass so we can go back. There is an electric vehicle charging point outside which we used which is useful. Looking forward to...

. Estar aquí te ayudará a materializar tus ideales pudiendo tener fe en la asistencia misericordiosa...

The Three Hares Gallery at the museum is currently exhibiting 'Faces and People', a joint exhibition from Jenny Fisk and Chris Howard. What a treat! Wonderful and such instantly-recognisable portraits adorn the walls! David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Timothèe Chalomet, Liza Minnelli are there, to name but a few! There are even beautiful mugs and Tshirts with famous faces printed on. Wow! Bravo Jenny! Chris, by contrast, gives us some fab, wild, bizarre and funny takes on aspects of Milton Keynes, where he has long resided, in different parts. His pictures are a must-see; strangely attractive, in every sense!. Great! Thanks both. Well worth a visit and you can, of course, tour the superb Cowper and Newton Museum and Gardens whilst there with the annual pass a steal at £10, yes, for the year!! Enjoy! Not...

This is a wonderful place to visit and has reopened in safe conditions after lockdown. The heart of Olney: exquisite gardens, the Summer House where Cowper wrote his beautiful poetry, extensive collections of artefacts illustrating Georgian Olney and the history of these two fascinating men who wrote the Olney Hymns, poet and preacher dedicated to the cause of abolishing slavery.

A fascinating Georgian town house museum which tells you about the lives and relationships of 3 people; Cowper, an influential poet, Newton, a writer of hymns and Mary Unwin, a companion and carer. There is also information on the history of Olney. Two tranquil gardens to the rear of the property are excellent places to sit and relax.

Fascinating. The house is atmospheric and homely even though it is a museum. The garden is very peaceful and I imagine very pretty in summer. It contains a tiny writer's room. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. The shop sells cards and crafts by local artists . Enjoyed a visit again this summer. Please see photos below.
