I don't recommend Olney Kitchen (I have emailed them about this and no reply)
Having worked in hospitality most of my working life, it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. But as someone with an allergy, if I have a reaction I feel it's only safe to let others know to be wary/ in this instance AVOID.
When I ordered, I asked the staff member about allergies and stated I'm coeliac and I'm really allergic and are the pizzas cooked separately. They told me they are separate. I clarified and they told me they were cooked separately.
I've had to take 2 days off work after being violently ill from 9pm Sunday until 5/6am Monday. I couldn't eat anything Monday, I didn't sleep at all Sunday. I'm still feeling beyond exhausted, my stomach is in agony and I'm barely able to eat anything (this is on Wednesday now..)
I was so violently ill and so dehydrated from being ill that I nearly needed to go to A&E. If I tried to drink water I would just vomit it back up.
I've been coeliac my whole life and I haven't had an allergic reaction like this in YEARS.
I feel that this restaurant should not state they can cater for allergies if their staff, kitchen staff and restaurant cannot cater for it. It's dangerous and unacceptable.
I'm exhausted and angry at allergies not being taken seriously. I will stick to being a loyal customer at The Cherry Tree in Olney who DO take allergens seriously and have never...
ย ย ย Read moreWe went here last night. We were two grandparents and two granddaughters aged 7 and 10. First I would say that the food was OK. However, we arrived at 7 oโclock and it took over an hour to get our starters. We had been put in a back corner and I believe basically forgotten about. We had to ask to order in the first place then were dismayed to see that tables that arrived after us had both their courses and left before we finished our starters. Eventually when we finished our main course and pointed this out to the Manager, we were told that it was because spaghetti takes a long time to cook. I know that this is certainly not the case. An apology and acceptance of the errors would have been much better than a lame and unrealistic excuse and the offer of two free childrensโ ice creams. Also the situation was exacerbated by the amount of takeaways being cooked and sent out. It is a shame that takeaways take precedent over customers in...
ย ย ย Read moreAlthough the insides are not quite for a 5*, we have received a full 5 star service, delicious food and very reliable prices. Italian restaurant (or at least we've been told the owner is Italian). We came here after we've searched on Google (as was my husband's birthday ๐ฅ๐พ). We've tried almost all the cocktails and they were all very tasty. Definitely recommend the chicken grilled (the grilled lamb was not as good as expected as was a bit to dry for our taste), but the burgers were delicious too. The waiter who looked after us was brilliant. He even offered to make a special dish for my daughter (which is usually very fussy and she can't have most of the food from the menu). Her own made pasta were the best we've tried so far. Authentic Italian taste ๐๐ We've parked on the main car park on the market (free all week around, besides Tuesdays and Sundays), and the restaurant is just in front of the parking. We look forward...
