Didn't even know this church was an art gallery, nothing fancy but for a small fee you can go to the top of the tower and see the town from a different perspective. I've lived in Hartlepool all my life and I've never seen this view with my own eyes. It's worth doing if you've not done it before, but unless you're super fit, don't take the stone steps, it nearly killed me.
There's a little café in there that serves food and hot and cold drinks for really fair prices, the staff are friendly and it's a nice little atmosphere.
It's free to enter the church/gallery/cafe, so it's worth a visit if you're nearby and if you've never been to the top of the tower I recommend it...

I went with my children for a event that Simon Bartram read his book The man on the moon and he then the children all drew aliens. It was a fantastic event and we'll worth going if it's on again and best of all it was free to book.
