Stayed here a few weeks ago when we had the heat wave in August. The lady on reception was nice, friendly and helpful. Even offering to change our room when she realised we were going to be walking through with motorcycle clothing on, which was really nice considering how hot it was. Room was nice, spacious and clean, with a lovely view over the marina . Only issue was how warm it was as there is no air con (Though we knew this when we booked). This just meant getting up early for a nice walk around the marina.

The breakfast in the Brewers Fayre (about 10m from the hotel entrance) was nice with plenty to choose from, and if any food got low it was refilled quickly. A lovely, helpful lady was on when we went in (just wish we'd got her name) as she just made it that pleasant. We got a nice table inside over looking the water which was nice, with seating outside near the water available to. This makes for a nice place to sit in the evening while enjoying a drink as well.

Around the marina there are quite a few bar and restaurants to choose from which are within a walkable distance.

Lastly, a large car park meant parking was easy, though no specific place (that we saw) to park bikes. Though no issues over night. Make sure to give your registration to reception so you don't incur...

A really good Premier Inn. The location is great right in the heart of the marina. The reception staff we incredibly friendly, giving us tips on where to eat, local history and places to visit. When we got to our room the staff had left a packet of cookies and a nice message, really did not expect that and we have never had this at the many Premier Inn's we have stayed at. The view out of our room was lovely in a morning looking directly at the tall ship in the Navy Museum. The Brewers Fair next door is nothing special, typical chain pub. Breakfast was average, nothing special, but close by. Unfortunately the town is suffering like many up and down the country with many boarded up shops, a shame really as it was clearly a rich town at some point as some of the buildings are spectacular to look at. Parking at the hotel is free with plenty of spaces, just enter your registration into the ipad...

Stay in hotel was absolutely fine as the environment of the marina is impressive with plenty of parking. Sadly breakfast was a prime example of lazy staff with indifferent attitudes towards cleanliness and customer service. If the hospitality industry is suffering under the current Blitzkrieg of pandemics, bad weather, retail slump and the unkind reputation Hartlepool gets, then the breakfast staff at this hotel only add to it. I think they are yet to learn the word “pride”. Dirty cutlery with food on it, cups and glasses clearly not properly washed, lack of bowls/plates, a que to get breakfast as the sloth like staff lurked in the kitchen. Twice I had knock on the kitchen door to ask for an order only to be met with glazed indifference. Common courtesy of hello and good morning were replaced by mumbles and zero eye contact. Yes, it’s grim up North! And I am...

So I visited during the off-season when it was quiet (and wet) but perfect. It was everything I needed - clean, reliable, friendly - with a touch of adventure. The hotel is on the marina so there are lots of boats bobbing around the building. It's also attached to a popular low cost restaurant (which I didn't sample) but makes it super convenient for busy folk or those with families. Hartlepool isn't huge so this hotel is a great base for a few days of beach adventures and some casual historical discoveries. The car park is free for those who are staying and there seems to be plenty of parking. If you're staying on one side of the building you get a nice view of your car and the boats. If you stay on the other side, you'll just get boats, boats and that other big boat. I liked it here. I think I will come back for another quiet adventure.

Firstly, the location. Great, it was lovely to wake up to the sights and gentle sounds of the marina. The room, again, great. It was very clean and well presented. The staff, were fabulous. A genuine greeting, filled with enthusiasm and smiles, we did request extra tea and coffee during our stay and an bath towel or two. Nothing was too much trouble. I only have two points I'd like to raise. Room 104 does get the noise of the stairs and the elephants trying to tiptoe up and down them. The car park spaces are a little on the narrow side, so when you get some halfwit in a BMW who can't park straight in one space to save their lives or some elderly gent who has no clue how long there honda CRV is, parking can be tricky.
