Hartlepool shopping centre is an ok place to shop if you just want the basics! As someone born & bred in Hartlepool I love our town BUT Iām quite ashamed of our little shopping centre to be honest. Having to travel further afield more times than Iād like for that special something like a hat for my sons wedding & believe it or not some nice underwear as thereās not even a lingerie shop in our town!! We have the staples every town needs like a dozen shoe shops, pound shops & the one & only Primarkš©I actually went into Primark yesterday looking for a couple of pairs of PJ bottoms & I was unsurprisingly unsuccessful in my search only finding silky, cotton or those tight bottoms!! Why am I finding that even the cheaper shops like Primark only really seem to cater for the younger generation & not for the more mature ladies? I may be nearly 54 years old but I still like nice clothes which are a little on the fun side, Iām far from an old fudy-dudy BUT I do find I have big trouble finding something off the peg here in my home town so more often than not I have to go to Newcastle to find the stores that cater for me or shop online, which I find myself doing even more now. And donāt even get me started on our so called department store T.J.Hughes, what an absolute load of rubbish they sell in there, I feel they send all the clothes they canāt sell in their other stores for us to have & I couldnāt even get a pair of crocks in there!! Hartlepool Shopping Centre is ok for basics as I said but donāt expect anything out of...

Visited a few weeks ago for the first time since lockdown. Absolutely no visible security presence whatsoever. 90% of people not wearing a mask or socially distancing. Nobody following the signage. Stores not challenging people about masks. A health hazard and as far from Covid-19 secure as possible.
UPDATE: 16.06.22:
The free parking is good but it's like a ghost town in here now. Full rows of empty shops. Just remember that whilst the first three hours of parking are free, you MUST get a ticket from the machine to display. It seems redundant having to get a ticket and to waste paper for free parking, but I guess they hope that people will assume that free parking means they don't need a ticket and then they can trap people with fixed penalty notices.
UPDATE: 13.11.22:
The place is completely dead now. There are vast swathes of empty units. I went in at 2:50pm on a Sunday, and shops like Boots and The Entertainer were already closed, even though they should be open until 4pm. I only went in to go to The Entertainer for toys for me nephew.
Apparently you don't need a ticket at all on a Sunday.
UPDATE: 07.09.23:
The place is dead, two thirds empty and the council still wants to gauge our eyes out for parking, whilst they approve new retail spaces to be built when we can't fill the ones we have (Marina).
