First time coming here and very happy to say I'd come again. There are parts of the beach with sand and parts with pebbles so if you're looking for a sandy bit keep going. The tide comes up all the way so don't leave your stuff too long, but that was only for a short while and we went to get food before coming back to sit on the beach again. Quite busy the day we went but not over crowded and lots of restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. Can't argue that for a beach in the UK!

not my fave, right next to the road and since close to southend always packed, but there are some places to grab ice cream, fish n chips along the road and cafes, but the beach itself isnt that nice to sit around on as its quite rocky and has alot of seaweed washed up (saw a bunch of dead crabs laying around too) and theres some nasty smell from the water, the tide is also way too close, you have to cross the road for toilets too.. wouldnt really recomment

The tide was completely out, a lot of clay, actual beach area is quite narrow with pebbles and sand, when the tide eventually came in it didn't stop, eventually everyone had to get off the beach as it ended up completely submerged, that's nature for you. Lots of food and drink around, places to buy bucket and spade, that kinda thing, water was calm, not the clearest but this ain't the Maldives. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Westcliff Beach in Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, offers a delightful coastal experience with its wide stretch of clean sands, gentle waves, and serene atmosphere. Located along the Thames Estuary, this beach provides lovely views across the water, especially during sunrise and sunset, when the skies create a beautiful backdrop. The beach's well-maintained promenade is perfect for a leisurely stroll or cycling, and it’s lined with benches for those who want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view.

Westcliff Beach caters to both locals and visitors with amenities that make it ideal for a day out. Several cafés and kiosks are conveniently close, offering a range of refreshments, snacks, and ice cream to enjoy by the shore. You’ll also find some fantastic local pubs and restaurants a short walk away, adding to the appeal of spending an extended visit in the area. Public facilities are available along the promenade, and there are designated areas for dog walking, which makes it a pet-friendly spot as well.

One of the highlights of Westcliff Beach is its family-friendly nature. The gentle gradient of the shoreline creates shallow waters perfect for paddling, and children will love the rock pools that emerge during low tide, where they can discover small marine creatures. The beach is also relatively quieter than some of Southend’s larger, more tourist-heavy areas, making it a good option for those seeking a more peaceful escape.

For accessibility, the beach is well-connected to local transport links, including buses and nearby Westcliff and Southend Central railway stations, making it an easy day trip from London. Overall, Westcliff Beach is a charming seaside destination that offers a blend of relaxation, family-friendly activities, and scenic beauty. It's a must-visit for anyone exploring...

(!!Disturbing pictures do not open if eating or sensitive to blood!!) Honest review DO NOT GO HERE!! Walked half a mile for the water to come up to my knees and then eventually I was crawling THATS NOT THE WORST PART! worst part is I went with few friends and we got cuts on our feet hands and toes... very hard to walk on the SAND NOT EVEN SAND! Sharp pebbles! sharp shells! LITERALLY CLAY and weird metal/wood bits sticking out from the SAND NIGHTMARE!! Seaweed washed up to the shore ! At one point I lifted up a wooden plank merged with sharp shells. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY... NOT AN EXPERT ON CLEANING BEACHES BUT MAYBE BRING OUT A TEAM AND...
