Wasn't too bad. This was the chosen restaurant for my Mother's 50th Birthday Feast and I can say that we had an good time, for the most part. The food was delicious. The starters were a selection of garlic breads and I must admit that they catered well for all our dietary requirements; gluten free, lactose free and the original cheese. For the main, I had the Salmon and the only thing to note was that it was maybe a little too at home swimming amongst the excess garlic. Nevertheless, I finished it all and had to problem doing so. Girlfriend didn't want to touch me though. Desserts were good with original Rossi's Ice cream, but it's what came after that was a tad too far. Coming from the management of 5* hotels within London, I had a certain eye for hospitality and how it's best practiced. The hospitality here was present, but it was the back of house things such as how the colleagues talk to each other, their communication in the front of house area and their sensitivity to client needs. The latter is most important and it's also the one I deemed required the greatest improvement. During the dessert, the restaurant staff performed a happy birthday ritual dialed up to 11. Too loud. My mother is not the most social person and as a result struggles when in the spot light which in this situation, was brighter than the Love Island cast's future. Further, the loud music and drama sent my sister into a panic attack as a result of anxiety. Now, I understand that these performances are fairly custom to America however, in the UK it is not. I understand that some people love the attention, but others do not. It's in these circumstances that a little communication to the party is needed to both maximise their enjoyment of the restaurant's hospitality and also, for the restaurant to give the best service possible to...
Read moreWOW. WOOOOW. It's been almost a week since I came, and it's not been a day since I've thought about this place. I've no idea what was better, the food or the guys serving and cooking it?! I don't think I've had Italian half as good at this before. When they said they do garlic bread, they do GARLIC mother* bread. Immense stuff with cheese!!! Get it!! I had to stay basic and go with the Carbonara so as to compare it to others I've had. The best! Full of flavour, not too dry and or wet, well mate and there's plenty of it! Well done.
As for the staff, they're as nice as the art they're painting (food they're serving) A load of genuinely lovely lads, who are up for a laugh and make lovely hosts. Filling up wine when there's signs of it going low in your glass, telling us stories (which is always funnier in a thick Italian accent!) about stories from home, and genuinely being incredible hosts.
I will be back with numerous different sets of people, I'm a half hour journey with no traffic (A127 though aye) and I want to be here at least once a month; hopefully more! If ever I was to give a true 5/5, it would be this place. Consider all my other...
Read moreHello world! I came late evening 12 February at 22:05, I asked if they where open, “ yes”! I noticed a very friendly atmosphere, 9 employees and owner. I was the only guest. I asked for spaghetti fruit de mare…. Very good choice and very tasteful. I spoke with the waitress ( she worked already long time there) kind Russian woman, she asked where I from, “ I am a Dutch guy that lives in Slovakia”… I had nice conversation with owner and his staff. I highly recommend this restaurant! Why..? Food is top but more important is the open friendly staff and owner are there for you with there heart… I didn’t see a lot of these rare kind of people, I had a good chat with the owner , warm hearted man and you can see it on his staff too. These people are real for you. And for those who only come to eat…. Try to connect for real with all of them… not only eat and your mobile. Thank you all, will take my sons to visit your good...
