Yemek (The Arches) — Restaurant in England

Went to Yemek today at 2pm so as the arches was quieting down slightly. It was fairly full but we got a table for three of us and the we sat for 15 minutes as the waitress seem to forget about us. I went up to the counter to get some drinks and the penny dropped and was told they would be right over which she was. Waitress apologised and we ordered. Drinks came first my tea was put in front of me with the promise of milk. I realised after 5 minutes the waitress had again forgotten me so I caught her attention and again penny dropped but this time she was less polite and slightly slammed the milk on the table as I was the one the problem. I thought “hold on love, you’re the one forgetting us here”. The food came and was good. Mine was fresh and tasty. On the food alone I would have gone 4 out of 5 but we had lousy service. Maybe just caught them on a bad day but we noticed people in the cafe next door sat down way after us but were eating way before us . Maybe understaffed with one...

I've been going to Yemek since it opened in Hadleigh. Back then the service was always with a smile and you went because not only was the food good but the owners made it a nice place to eat.

I believe ownership has changed since then and it has lost its spark. Had a large breakfast which was okish. Added salt as I always do and I wish I hadn't to the mushrooms. They were already so salted that by adding more it has left a burning sensation on my lips and tongue. It is quite expensive but I wouldn't expect any different from a seafront location due to overheads etc. The last who served me just had no zest. You could tell it was an effort to even smile. On a couple of occasions I was polite trying to make conversation which was abundantly ignored.

We visited the restaurant around 3:40pm on Saturday. 3 other restaurants turned us down and was still wondering why because those restaurants were nearly empty but they asked us to book it in advance.

We are Vegetarian and restaurants options were limited. But every items we ordered were delivered within 10 to 15minutes. The food was are simply amazing. Most notable items were curly fries, Garlic bread and Mediterranean mixed Vegetable pasta. Since this restaurant was not our original choice we didn't set any expectation but we were quite surprised how fresh and tasty the foods were. Lovely ambience and friendly staffs.
