The sunset at Westcliff-on-Sea is a breathtaking spectacle, painting the sky in hues of orange, pink, and gold as the sun dips below the horizon. Overlooking the Thames Estuary, the view is particularly stunning from the cliffs or along the promenade, where the shimmering water reflects the fading light in a mesmerizing display. As the evening unfolds, silhouettes of boats gently drifting on the calm waters add to the serene atmosphere. The gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore, combined with the cool sea breeze, creates a tranquil and almost poetic moment. Whether you're watching from the beach, the gardens, or a cozy café along the seafront, a sunset at Westcliff-on-Sea is a truly magical experience that...

If you like fresh air, Westcliff is only 30 miles from London (now part of the City of Southend) It is literally a breath of fresh air. Parking is plentiful (£12.50 for 5 hours) and the walks along the Western Esplanade, gardens and the beach road are healthy, lung filling experiences. The views across the estuary to Kent can be an interesting break, with a coffee, tea, ice cream watching the people, sea birds, boats. The Cliff's Lift (fernicular) is 50p to the top of the cliffs, Pavilion, Bandstand, Casino and where the town's shopping malls are situated with the same shops as everywhere else (if they haven't closed down due to Covid) If you like fresh air...

The westcliff beach is a nice stone/shingle beach with some sandy areas. At high tide the beach is covered, whilst at low tide the sea is a distant view. He beach is usually quieter than the more central beaches but will still get very busy on a hot day. There are ample places to grab a bite to eat and there are toilets on the opposite side of the road next to the 'arches' cafes. There are also a couple of Rossi ice cream parlours close by. There is lots of parking along Western Esplanade but if its full you can try Shorefield Road car park, which is only short walk away at the top...

Picturesque seaside town with plenty of ice cream parlours and restaurants. Check tide times if you want to swim because when the tide is out you'll have a kilometre hike from the shore to the sea! Sand is limited so pick a spot early. 54min from Stratford so pretty decent place to escape London for the day. Have fun 😁
