Parking is plentiful (£12.50 for 5 hours) and the walks along the Western Esplanade, gardens and the beach road are healthy, lung filling experiences. The views across the estuary to Kent can be an interesting break, with a coffee, tea, ice cream watching the people, sea birds, boats. Read moreThe westcliff beach is a nice stone/shingle beach with some sandy areas. At high tide the beach is covered, whilst at low tide the sea is a distant view. He beach is usually quieter than the more central beaches but will still get very busy on a hot day. There are ample places to grab a bite to eat and there are toilets on the opposite side of the road next to the 'arches' cafes. There are also a couple of Rossi ice cream parlours close by. There is lots of parking along Western Esplanade but if its full you can try Shorefield Road car park, which is only short walk away at the top...
