Akropolis Restaurant — Restaurant in England

It was my birthday 09/02/22 and the cold meze was not Greek Cypriot, as we do not eat egg mayonnaise, potato salad and tuna mayonnaise for cold meze. The picture on their website shows Dolmadakia/ Koupepias which were not provided along with no olives, keftedes or squid. So not authentic Greek Cypriot meze. The way the meze was served was incorrect, the kleftiko accompaniments came out with the cold meze first course. The Stifado again was not authentic nearer to curry. The halloumi, sausages and lounza were authentic along with the star of the show Kleftiko. The dark haired older waitress was something to be desired her attitude was absolute awful when questioning a bottle of wine and how the two slightly different meze meus work, but the young waitress was amazing with a lovely manner. My friend asked for candles for my birthday cake which was complete ignored, I was wished happy birthday on my way out. This is not a satisfactory in any shape or form, after the pandemic I would like to think the hospitality industry would work a lot better and harder in getting positive reviews and gaining confidence in customers. Went here last night with my family, a 7pm booking. Been here several times before but not visited for quite a while. It's a small-ish restaurant with a good amount of seating, but you're not packed in like sardines. There was no live music last night but that was fine, the chatter from all the other diners was noisy enough and gave a good atmosphere to the place. We all ordered the meze to share between us and it was fabulous. The different courses were well presented and tasted great. The best course was the meat - lamb, beef, pork & chicken skewers, accompanied by rice, salad and roast potatoes. We couldn't finish the skewers so they were boxed up to take home. The staff were friendly, cheerful, and attentive, taking our empty plates away to make room for the meze, and replacing drinks when needed. They also gave us a good bit of time between courses so we weren't rushed and could all sit and chat/have a laugh. Booked into here last night, very busy, quite packed and loud, tried seating us on a long table with others but we asked for our own table for 4 but it wasn’t fully laid. My starter of scallops was small but the other 3 starters were nice, the wine and beer were both warm, my partner’s fillet steak was tough, he didn’t even think it was fillet, we asked for it to be replaced and not as tough but it came back again tough so he didn’t have a main, my steak was also quite tough but was in a sauce so not as bad, the other mains were nice, the tiramisu was extremely nice. We were told we could order a replacement meal for the steak but we didn’t and they still put the steak on the bill? I explained to the waitress that he sent it back twice and didn’t replace, she made us feel uncomfortable in company saying but it was from the same loin as your steak, I said yes but we are two separate people and that’s his choice! She took the steak off of the bill, therefore we didn’t leave a tip as our meal...
