I've lived locally for about 10 years but have never managed to visit, until today. Saturday morning at 08:30. I must admit I was really impressed...admittedly helped by it being a beautiful morning. It's a beautiful lake with (reasonably) easy access and good parking. Lovely to watch the brave souls venturing into the water and the staff on-site were very friendly and helpful in answering questions about the swimming...I don't think I'll be doing that!...but I'm definitely coming back for a walk.

It’s 19th August 2023. It’s closed indefinitely for walking around but open to the water activities and to fishermen. We walked around the muddy/grassy lake in about 1 hour at slow pace to meet with a 9 fence stopping us getting to our car. We walked round the fence in high weeds to the wooden low fence and climbed over only to be told off by one of the water sports staff. There was ample free parking. Hopefully they put a nice path round it and open it to the public.

I enjoy outdoor swimming here via Be Endurance semi regularly, it's easy to park at and the staff are friendly. The amenities are basic but the site is being improved monthly. Luxborough Lakes also hosts a small cafe during opening hours for walks (currently Saturday and Sunday, 8-2), an inflatable course, paddle boarding and other events I haven't used. Walks are £2 per person.

We received a leaflet through our letter box about Aquasplash at the lake, so decided to check it out. It turns out it's private property which the leaflet did not mention. The owner rudely chased us off the property and was quite agressive tbh, I've never been spoken to like this before. He kept saying that this land belongs to his family and we need to get out. It was only me, my sister in law and my small baby in a pram, so we were not causing any trouble, we just wanted to look around and see if we'd like to come with our families at the weekend as we live 5 minutes away. Well, we certainly won't be doing that for sure. We walked to the lake on foot and did not notice any signs saying that we have to pay £2 to enter. The only 'Private property'sign we saw was on the large blue gates just before the cafe area. The gates were open, so we did not see the sign and walked past it, we only saw it on the way out. Our mistake I guess, but I wish this was explained to us in a more polite and...

I had met Siobhan before through family, was lucky enough to watch her introduce New Paddle Boarders to the lake, The induction Was Given to all to install Confidence, and yes Siobhan has that Skill, doesn’t matter how many are in the group, you feel She giving you the Skills you need for your first Exciting Adventure on the Lake. After my full induction my time out on the lake with Siobhan was much more fun, new skills are never easy, Siobhan is so professional, but makes you feel so at ease to enjoy your time with her, she never far away guiding everyone through, She installs Confidence and makes it so much more fun, can’t wait for my next time out with Siobhan on Beautiful Luxbrough Lake. 👎❗🚫 AVOID this place like the plague. The owner CHARGES £2 just to walk around the lake. Typical millionaire (owner), capitalising on every opportunity to rip people off and make more money. DO NOT hand your money over, and REFUSE to pay the fee. GO ELSEWHERE that is free - THERE ARE PLENTY OF LAKES LOCALLY that ARE 100% FREE to walk around.

To make it worse still, the cabin that offers refreshments chugs out fumes from it polluting diesel generator ☢ Which is POLLUTING THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT. They could just pay out for some solar panels instead, to power the...
