We had intended to go for the 'tasting' menu. However, it was not made clear that this was not available on Mondays. Instead we were presented with a 'grazing' lunchtime menu. The food was alright, but very expensive for what it was - we have definitely had better quality/value in other places in Falmouth. The waiting staff were friendly but inexperienced. An example was when red wine was being poured and we were asked to 'say when'.... Also, they ran out of steak knives and one of the party was presented with a 'cheese' knife as a substitute.... Fantastic on all counts.

Stupidly I had booked the wrong date but the maitre d' was unbelievably accommodating and found us a table, with only a small wait in the bar.

The tasting menu is amazing and paired with the wine flight is excellent value. The food is interesting without becoming overly experimental and the local focus is clear and highly appropriate.

The waiting staff were attentive and helpful without being suffocating.

Highly recommend overcoming the inertia around hotel dining, this is not a staid hotel restaurant but something far more interesting...

A fantastic dinning experience!

From walking through the front door to paying the bill, the service was excellent through out the evening.

We had the 7 course tasting menu and nearly every single dish was perfect! Just slightly underwhelmed by the first of 2 deserts named rhubarb. However, the dishes; snacks, mackerel, and black pig were out of this world! The last desert called chocolate left us feeling completely satisfied and put a big smile on our faces.
