Staff were lovely and the two of us were immediately greeted at the door and told we would be in screen 1. Then we were pointed to the bar and lounge area upstairs.
We arrived at 18:00, an hour and a half early, to get food before our movie at 19:30. The waiting staff struggled to put through two burgers and two juices. Just awkwardly stood at our table for several mins frantically tapping the screen while we just watched perplexed. Come 19:15 food had not come after over an hour and we did not know if it would come before the movie or not. Fortunately, food arrived just as I was getting up to ask for a refund on the food with the intention of eating somewhere else and skipping the film I paid for.
I'm sure the kitchen staff do their best, but they need some help if it is taking an hour and a quarter for burger and chips. I've seen reviews for great burgers from here. We must have been unlucky with a chewy burger and a single thin strip of cremated bacon down the middle.
We wolfed down our food with minutes until our screening started and walked into screen 1 which turned out to be a completely different film that was midway through. The lady at the front door had told us the wrong room at the start of the night and we embarrassingly interrupted another movie. It turns out, others in room 2 made the same mistake after being told the wrong room number by the greeter at the entrance. Lesson: always check your ticket, even if the staff tell you where you should be!
The actual cinema room was great. Brought popcorn and milkshakes to our seats during the adverts at the start. Super comfy sofas, comfiest I have ever been in a cinema. Comfy all the way to the end of a 3 hour 20 min film. Unreal!
Both our milkshakes had chunks of ice which kept blocking our straws. Gave up on mine.
Overall bizarre night but I came to watch a movie and I was comfortable all the way through a good film so...
Read moreI have now visited the newly opened Everyman Cinema in Marlow twice. Once to see "The Equalizer 3" and and the other to see "Dumb Money".
It is not just a cinema trip, it is a whole evening's entertainment.
I'd suggest arriving for your movie with extra time, so that you can experience a pre-movie drink in the surprisingly well stocked cocktail-ready bar, which is delightfully decorated and luxuriously appointed with comfy sofas. The eager and willing bar and wait-staff are ready to take your drink orders and your in-movie food order.
There is a wide range of in-movie food choices, like types of burgers. The Everyman Burger can be accompanied with numerous items like bacon, blue cheese or Cheddar or Red Leicester cheese etc. I also highly recommend the shrimp & avocado burger. Likewise, fries are available with various add-ons , e.g. Cheesy Fries (real cheddar cheese not from a tube), Buffalo Fries and Sweet Potato Fries
The next difficult choice is to decide what milkshake to have with your meal, and whether to make it "Hard" by adding a shot to it. We've tried the Salted Caramel mixed with chocolate and without chocolate, the Banana milkshake, with and without a shot of rum (I was driving). All great choices.
All you have to do is order your food & drinks at the bar, go to your seats in the auditorium, and the helpful wait staff will bring your food order to you during the adverts.
Then you just have to sit back, enjoy the food & drink and hope the director did a decent job making an entertaining movie 😄, unless you are at a "Throwback" movie, where should already know that "The Exorcist" or "The Matrix" are damn...

The service was outstanding - I was even more impressed as it was the first weekend. I can excuse the food as it was the first weekend and am sure that if I have this place another shot the 1912 burger would be served at a good temp. I would stick to the sweet potato fries. The milkshake and buffalo sauce need a complete rethink. For the cinema ticket price, I would expect better! Pricing for the food is good and I will definitely hit there for a burger in the future.
SERVICE 5/5 - Blown away!
Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. We were made to feel so welcome.
DECOR 5/5 - beautiful!
Fantastic conversion of the old building.
CINEMA 3/5 - could be more comfy!
Screen 1 - The screen and sound system is great though the seating area could be more comfy. Consodering you are permitted to take a full meal in with you, there is limited space to put your food and drink and belongings.
FOOD 3/5 - Has the potential to be a 5/5!
The sweet potato fries n sauce were outstanding though the buffalo fries were poor - the sauce was not good! The 1912 burger was delicious though came luke warm.
DRINK 1/5 - plz have a Byron Oreo Shake!
The Oreo Milkshake with Bourbon was especially poor as I had assured when ordering that it was a thick shake... what I received was watery and whilst it tasted like oreo, there was no oreo in there. I can only therefore assume that it consisted on milk and oreo syrup with little to know ice cream or actual oreos. On the plus side, the alcohol content...
