TLDR: All in all super fun, but would hesitate to recommend in busier times. And defo needs cleaning.
This place is really good for kids on a Sunday morning nice and quiet for one, can imagine it’s a nightmare when it’s really busy. I was sad to see the bumper cars are now drifting trikes, and the gold was replaced by dodgeball; but all the same the kids had a great time.
Points to note that the cleanliness was really off putting. Balls of dust in every corner and even the toilet cisterns had a thick layer of dust on them. For context I was born in the 80s and used to rolling around in the dirt as a kid, but couldn’t help but notice that the place really needs a thorough clean and some kind of schedule.
Other thing to note was that I had to bring staff to the trikes to inflate the tyres, 9/10 were flat and some trikes were out of action because the steered tube wasn’t tightened up properly (basically you can turn the steering but the wheel doesn’t turn). An Allen key and a clockwise turn would fix this, but as the place is run by kids not old enough to vote that was of course beyond their capabilities - they were just pushed to the side, limiting action for other kids who wanted to join in on the fun.
The laser tag was immensely fun and with 20 gun packs a good number could go in (I was alone with 1 of my sons, perhaps would have been more fun with more of us but the other two were triking and drifting to their heart’s content.
I could see that the football had a timer which is great, not that anyone was waiting but the dodgeball didn’t so that could perhaps cause friction if there was actually someone else waiting. We were literally the only ones there bar a girl’s birthday party and perhaps a group of 3/4 other boys.
Didn’t play the machines at the start but I remember from last time (I’m like the queen, I don’t carry cash) there was no machine to turn your contactless payment method into coins. I remember this was an epic fail from their perspective because I’d imagine that lots of people don’t have (the right)...
Read moreDrove an hour to take my 9 year old daughter and met up with friends who we don't see often (9 year old, 6 year old and 3 year old) It was absolutely worth it! I can't understand why people are leaving bad reviews!? Then again, some people like to be miserable.
Our experience was excellent. We arrived at 11am and having read the reviews, we wrapped up warm. There was no need as it turns out. Yes, the place is kept cool, but it's not Baltic! Once the kids have run around a couple of times, they are stripping off hoodies and are sporting flushed cheeks and sweaty hairlines.
Once we had done a circuit of the whole place, my friend and I sat in the café near the soft play, got our free coffee and had a good catch up. Each of the areas had a staff member overseeing everything; all of the staff were helpful and engaging. (Special shout out to Jasmine on the Ice Rink for pushing round my friend's daughter on the plastic whale, as we both can't skate for toffee!) The young lady at the Dodgems could see my daughter was worried about being crashed into hard, and was therefore slightly concerned about going in - she said if there was a problem she would be happy to stop everyone and get my girl out! Fantastic and so helpful!
The enclosed Football Pitch was a big hit, as was the Ninja Course, Lazer Tag and little archade area at the entrance. I understand that people have complained that other Flip Out branches have trampolines but this one's doesn't - I went to the website and could see it wasn't listed as an activity so.. maybe do some research first next time?
The facilities on the whole were clean and tidy (including the toilets - lots of soap was available). From the café, hot slices of pizza were purchased for lunch and packs of pringles for snacks.
We stayed for approx 4 hours and it was well worth the money. The kids didn't want to leave. It wasn't even busy despite it being the middle of the Easter Holidays!
I absolutely recommend Flip Out and I'm sure we will be back. Thanks to all the staff for a...
Read moreI thought you would like to know my experience at Flip Out in Aylesbury was like today for us!
I am even surprised that it's open!
Firstly the place was freezing, after complaining to the manager he advised us that the heating was not working and was being fixed! It was so cold every one sat there in there gloves and coats. I asked the manager and it would have been nice to be told before we signed in then it could have been our decision as to weather we stayed, we was even advised after paying £3.00 each we could get a hot drink and then we was told its not working we have to go out and buy one but could bring it in.. the manager was useless in my eyes didn't even respond and should have not been left in charge to run the place. We have been to flip out a number of times and our last visit was back in November for my sons birthday party but since then its gone down hill. The place is so dirty so many things broken! OMG the toilets were digesting, they look as if they have not been cleaned in months, the toilets had faeces all over them which looked liked they had been there for a while, the floors were black and dirty. The kids steps in the toilets were so dirty, I honestly never complain but I feel like health and safety would shut this place down if there is no improvements. As soon as my kids got home they went straight into the shower and socks were put in the bin. We all know that softplays do get a bit dirty but this place has not seen a deep clean in some time. Its not even cheap and we could not even stay our full 2hrs due to the place being so cold. I really think you need to be aware and improvements ...
