Very disappointing night at Hollywood Me and my family decided after a hard day at work lets go play bowling at Hollywood Derby. We was on lane 15 before the game started one of the workers came and took the ball From us and we said we needed it he repiled i will get you another one and he never did. We carried on with what balls we had and as the balls did not fit our fingers we kindly asked lane 16 and 17 For 2 small green balls and they happily gave us. Then whilst playing our game the same guy took 2 balls without asking us and we thought that was very rude of him as firstly he never asked to take the balls of us as we were still palying and it was 10.10pm not closing time.As my fingers could not fit in any of the balls i went to get the ball from lane 16 and the manager wearing a white shirt said put that back put that back without saying please and his tone was not an understanding one but adamant that the ball be put back we said why do we need to put it back as we are still playing and fingers only fit in that he was not prepared to listen and that same guy again blond or white hair came on the lane and said rudely you cant take that out put it back. You can check cctv for whole incident. They made us feel very uncomfortable and the manager threatened to ban us as if we carried on using the ball manager took the ball back.We come to Hollywood regularly with friends and family and today’s experience made us very sad and disappointed that they did not once listen instead made us feel very unwanted and spoiled the whole game and said he will ban us , is that how you treat your customers not exceptable. Please teach them people skills and manners you need to.have the rules clear what we can and cant do. When i asked the manager where is it written we can’t take balls from other lanes while hollywood is still Open to public ,he repiled he makes the rules ,next time all our friends and family will rather go where there is respect for us to spend our money Tenpin bowling.. We all were very upset the way they handled this situation unprofessionally so you don’t need to ban us we just won’t come back we have...
Read moreSearched the shopping centre for almost half an hour trying to find the bowling alley (some signage said 3rd floor, some said 2nd floor), because of this we were 15minutes late for our slot. Woman behind the counter spoke to us like we were naughty school children, really spoke down to us. Manage to come to an agreement that instead of all 5 of us bowling, only 3 would to cut the time down- refused to give us a refund, only option was vouchers for next time we came (even though we said we wouldn't be coming again as we lived 1 hour 20 min away). I think she could tell I was not impressed by her attitude so she offered to give us a free jug of slush. 25 minutes into our playing she rudely came over and told us we were "bowling too slowly", and "we had taken 40 minutes to bowl a 30 minute game" and to "hurry up as the next people were here". Free jug of slush was very flavourless, too much ice. Jug of coke was crammed full of ice, not enough coke and expensive. Glass of wine was Luke warm and expensive. The alley was so hot, no air conditioning. The one and only machine to buy and top up the cards for the arcade only took cash, the card machines and contactless didn't work. Restaurant menu was ridiculously basic- beef burger, chicken burger, vegetable burger, chicken wings or hot dog. Considering this is meant to be an absolutely fantastic bowling alley chain, I was thoroughly disgusted and disappointed by our visit and will stick to our local NON-chain bowling alley in Grantham. Better, friendlier, more helpful staff. Better menu. Cheaper drinks. Air conditioning. Longer bowling time slots, comes up on bowling screen with a friendly reminder when time slot coming to an end. Maybe more money needs to be spent on training staff Customer service skills, expanding the menu, lowering drink prices and installing air conditioning, rather than all the expensive decor. Good customer service costs nothing but goes a...
Read moreThis is definitely one of the better arcades, in my opinion, and so we travel further to go to this one, even though we haveA couple that are closer to us.A good variety of machines. They have a card system, which you can top up with money and you get extra credits depending on how much you put on it. Every time we’ve been, all the machines have been working and full of tickets. Certain machines don’t give tickets or prizes, but are fun to play eg., the rollercoaster simulator and the superMario cart game. However, you can use cash also. They have cash and coin change machines. Prizes to choose from depending on tickets won. We park in the multi-storey car park , and the arcade is on level 3. The car park is pay on exit and it can take quite a long time to find a space at the weekend c even though it’s big. Staff are friendly. This is a 3+ rating from me. A few things need improving. More staff is needed, as sometimes the queues can get long when you need to choose prizes or top up your card. Also, the top-up card machine only seems to take cash, even though they have a card machine integrated, we’ve never been able to get that to work. I believe that part needs fixing. The toilets can get dirty , and it’s incredibly hard to get the toilet paper from the roll machine. They need cleaning more frequently and the soap dispensers need to be topped up more frequently. It would also be good if the selection of prizes were more varied. Fix these issues and it would be a definitely be 5 star rating from me. I recommend this arcade for a good few hours of fun with the kids. Great selection of working machines, something for every one and of...
