Rock Solid Coasteering — Attraction in Great Britain

Coasteering with Rock Solid this past weekend was one of the most enjoyable outdoor activities I've done - jumping off the rocks into the water, swimming through arches and caves, and deep water soloing were great fun.

The experience was easy to book via text message with Ziggy who responded quickly and supplied all the necessary information about what to bring and where to park, with parking available just down the road.

Ziggy provided all the equipment which was of good quality, including some brand new wetsuits, and the life jacket, helmet etc. never felt uncomfortable. He's also a master of guessing your size, spot on every time!

After a quick walk down to the beach and a brief warm-up, including picking up some ocean plastics in the seaweed, we got started with a jump into the water which was a great way to wake up! At the jump spots there were options so you could jump off at a height you were comfortable with, and easier ways to climb back up again, as well as more challenging climbs if you wanted to test yourself. There were also different routes for traversing around the cliff face depending on ability. No matter the height of the jump, it always felt safe.

An awesome bonus to the tour was seeing the seals not even 30 metres away lounging on the rocks as well as swimming through the water. Alongside the wildlife, Ziggy also told us about the interesting geology of the area while we enjoyed hot chocolate and rum in the smuggler's cove.

A great activity for anyone into climbing or looking for an adrenaline hit but also the peace of mind knowing you're not going to hurt yourself jumping into the water.

The convenience of being able to change in the gardens of their house and then walk down to the beach set the tone for a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Our group consisted of individuals with varying levels of experience, but our knowledgeable guide skillfully led us, ensuring our safety as we navigated from rock to rock and eventually worked our way up to jumping off a thrilling 10-meter ledge into the invigorating water. Our guide catered to individuals with different comfort levels, offering options for those who preferred a less daring experience.

Unexpected Wildlife Encounters

To top off an already fantastic day, we were fortunate enough to witness the beauty of nature with sightings of dolphins and a remarkably large seal, adding an extra layer of magic to our adventure.

Ziggy was amazing and has had great communication since I first contacted him about my boyfriends upcoming 30th birthday. My partner has always wanted to go coasteering and I thought I'd book for us to do it together even though I'm terrified of heights! We went out on a sunny March day, and got suited up (all we brought was something to wear under a wetsuit and some old shoes and socks, Ziggy provided the rest!) I had a cold but had no chance to think about feeling ill or scared. We were joined by a lovely lady called Terri, and warmed up playing volley ball. By the time we got to the sea we were laughing, and we were hot and sweaty and just wanted to jump in, turns out it's quite warm in March! Each jump got gradually bigger and I ended up forgetting a lot of my fears. There were a few things I didn't want to do which Ziggy gave me alternatives to, but my boyfriend did everything and was in his element and I pushed myself further than I ever thought I could. We even got to see a seal bobbing around! We had an amazing time and stopping to have some yummy hot chocolate was a bonus, and my partner got a lil creme egg birthday candle celebration on lover's ledge! Honestly even if you are scared just do it. It's exhilarating, the water is great and the company obviously are experienced and know the coast like the back of their hands (we got some great geology lessons on the way round).
