We were meet by Anthony who greeted us helped us unload the car my sister in law who booked the house done all the communication it was nice that we were able to move in earlier than expected as they do say check in at 1700, a big bonus being there a bit earlier. Well what can I say about the house first of all Anthony gives you a tour of the house explains the appliances as they are very high tech also explains that there's more info in the binder in front of the door if you need more details but just going through with what was advised worked well. The view all I can say is wonderfull it's certainly an experience to enjoy, the location it's down a winding hill lots of parking on site and you can easily turn around and drive out again. The kitchen if your like me who enjoys space and enjoys cooking the equipment that they installed is perfect meals were cooked we had a lot of fun meals in this house even though catering for everyone is a lot to do. The open plan aspect living room dining room is great perfect for entertaining and well all l can say is that we done a lot of that for the week that we spent there and enjoying the views was second to none. The bedrooms are really well appointed and the rain showers are my favourite perfect temperature showers what a pleasing 2 rooms come with bathtub which yes just got to have a nice bath to relax and enjoy. And yes you have the view as well unfortanetly the weather didn't help otherwise we could have enjoyed the balcony for coffee in the morning. Pool well my brothers teenagers were very happy they thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the pool and I forgot to mention there's a games room as well so this house really does accommodate for every aspect from young to the older side that may just want to sit enjoy the view and read a book mind you didn't really have time for that. Exploring the local area was great even though we were there over New Years and the weather was against us we still managed 3 hikes, was a bit muddy but the views are worth it along the coastal paths and we went down to the bay where they have a cafe. We also done a few excursions to local towns just to see what's going on around the area all in all a luxury villa set in a very nice part of Devon well worth the visit and would look forward to returning in the warmer months to enjoy more the outside. We did visit the thatched tavern there's a separate review for them.

What a fantastic property! We’ve stayed in lots and lots of holiday cottages over the years and are generally very difficult to please, so we were even more surprised by how wonderful Maidensea House was. We were a group of 14 adults (celebrating my 60th birthday) and every one of our guests were blown away by it. From the moment you enter it’s clear that everything has been finished to a very high standard. The bedrooms all have fantastic modern en-suites and from the biggest to the smallest (which are by no means cramped) are beautifully designed. Downstairs is perfectly set up for a house party. The enormous main room (living/dining/kitchen) flows beautifully. The kitchen has everything you could ever want (we always bring our own knives and lots of other things that places usually forget to provide - but Maidensea had everything) including every size and type of crockery and cookware for even the most special dinner party, and really good quality glassware, plus enough wine-fridges, freezers, ice makers etc to cater for any sized gathering! The icing on the cake is the amazing cinema room (perfect for our afternoon of 6 Nations rugby!), the beautiful indoor headed swimming pool and the table tennis/pool playroom (if we had one issue it was that the play room wasn’t heated, so being there in Feb made it less usable than it would otherwise have been) We will definitely be back, hopefully next time we’ll choose a hotter month so we can make more use of the lovely gardens too! There is a lovely little beach a 10 min walk down the hill and a perfect pub/restaurant a 5 min walk away (The ThatchedTavern) where we had a great Sunday lunch. Also, if you’re looking for something a bit different to do we all went to the Ashcombe Activity Centre which was 18 mins drive away. We split into two groups to do clay pigeon shooting and archery and all loved it, particularly as the instructors for both were fantastic.

Maidensea House is just fabulous in every way, from the villa to the grounds and indoor heated pool to the marvelous location a short walk to the beach, cafe and particularly nice pub. With 8 beautiful and unique bedrooms, each with en suite modern bathroom, it was perfect for our family and friends. We enjoyed the screening room, the game room with pool table and Ping-Pong table, but mostly we enjoyed the state-of-the-art kitchen and two beautiful dining areas one outside and one inside. We loved having two dishwashers and two large refrigerators. Everything was clean, modern and perfect for a group of 16. I owned a villa rental business for 27 years and have seen and experienced the best and Maidensea House was top of the top.

Wow !

Maidensea is a perfect house!

I cannot fault the house or our hosts for anything at all. Sandra and Ant were a pleasure to deal with and really responsive. I wholeheartedly recommend Maidensea for your holiday / getaway.

I hired the house for a group of 16 adults for my 40th birthday. Sandra helped me to find a caterer and made some great suggestions for activities for the weekend. I organised a murder mystery evening with a chef and we had a fantastic evening on the Saturday night. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was all excellent quality, two large fridges additional bottle fridges and two dishwashers made keeping the kitchen tidy really easy. The welcome gift was very much enjoyed by us all too.

All of the bedrooms are en-suite with an individually designed bathroom for each room, which is a lovely touch. The beds and sheets were “like sleeping in a cloud” according to one of my friends. The complimentary cosmetics were excellent quality and smelled beautiful. It was so peaceful and relaxing and such a treat to wake up and see the sea from our bed.

The indoor pool is fantastic, it’s a lovely temperature and if it is nice weather you could open the sliding doors and it would feel as if it were an outdoor pool.

All of my guests were really impressed with the house and all the facilities, nothing was broken the house was immaculate.

We would absolutely...
