Park at the bottom in a small layby, walk up a steady but undulating obvious path along the ridge top of lawley. Past a small radio tower with several little dishes and stuff. Fab views left and right, several false summits and gets steep for a few hundred meters near the top. Can be quite windy! A big weather vane with bird motif on the top. You can continue on down the other side if you can leave another car there as it's not a circular walk. You'll probably see some Hawks and Ravens, definitely sheep! Some have big curly horns too. The paths are rocky and unstable so sturdy footwear is advisable as is decent cold weather clothing in the winter. It's very exposed and the weather can be quick to change (as we found out today in the gales and sleet!) Bikes are not allowed and it does ask that dogs be on leads however since no self respecting bird would be ground nesting at this time of year it's ok to let your well behaved dog off lead, others thought so too. I even got to see a few lambs close up. Overall I had a very good experience. If you visit the tourist centre first you can buy a little map based on how much you would like to walk.
