An Unfortunate Experience: Reviewing the Worst University I Studied In
As a former student, I feel compelled to share my honest review of the university I consider to be the worst educational institution I have ever attended. My time at this university was marked by numerous disappointments and frustrations that significantly impacted my learning experience.
One of the most glaring issues I encountered was the unprofessionalism displayed by the staff. It was disheartening to witness their lack of care and concern for the well-being and success of the students. The staff members seemed disengaged and indifferent, making it difficult for students to seek guidance or support when needed.
Moreover, the university's disregard for students' rights was evident. Strikes and boycotts were commonplace, disrupting the academic calendar and causing unnecessary delays in our education. This constant turmoil not only hindered our progress but also created an environment of uncertainty and instability.
Another major concern was the misalignment between the curriculum and the exam papers. Despite investing time and effort into studying the prescribed material, it seemed irrelevant when it came to the actual assessments. The exams frequently included content that was not covered adequately in class, leaving students feeling unprepared and frustrated.
Furthermore, the quality of the past papers provided for exam preparation was subpar. They failed to accurately reflect the level of difficulty or the scope of the course material. Consequently, relying on these past papers proved to be a futile exercise, leading to further confusion and a lack of confidence in our exam readiness.
Overall, my experience at this university was deeply unsatisfactory. The unprofessionalism of the staff, their disregard for students' rights, the frequent strikes and boycotts, the disconnect between the curriculum and exams, and the inadequacy of the past papers all contributed to a highly frustrating and unproductive learning environment.
I sincerely hope that the university takes these criticisms constructively and implements necessary changes to improve the educational experience for future students. It is essential for any educational institution to prioritize professionalism, student support, and the alignment of curriculum with assessments to ensure a conducive learning environment that fosters growth...

The worst place you could study for Computer Science when I studied was top 20-30s easily almost a decade ago the neighbor Cardiff is easily better by being part of the Russell Group university
If you really want to study CS in this uni just choose the Year in Industry option the rest of the lecturers and university don't seem to care for normal students 0 support in terms of alumni and graduate linking which will be evident in your first week as they will give you option to change and final week when you require additional support from them
In terms of study wise the quality of lecturers and education is mixed at best some are really great at what they do but they are 1/10 leaving 4/10 terrible 5/10 average from my experience
Don't bother to do Foundations for this university its just A level Maths and Mixed Triple Science at best but waste of time and year just to attend this university when the Year 3 modules are the worst compared to other universities which I definitely changed towards better one the difference is night and day
The Year 1 is still worst value for money hastily rushed intro to programming and discrete maths but the other half modules in this year are useless Ethics and Professional most time is spent on this useless module
Year 2 is where it really starts getting going with busy hectic modules from OOP to starter database to Operating Systems to Automata Systems and depending on your choices but the forced group work for majority of the modules which doesn't need to be group work is what ruins this year and most students are hastily rushed into group to make them teach other for actual cs study
Year 3 is final year for the average CS student Year or year in industry for the select few students who chose this option This is the year of specialization and time to publish research but majority won't be able to publish as the quality of information and edge is a decade old where you will realize why did you even pick this uni
The information are from 1997 to 2016 at latest depending on modules
I would've rated this uni 3/5 but the way the housing staff treated me during the covid times which I will never forget only...
Β Β Β Read moreThe level this university operate at is more high school/college level than university establishment as they take a lot of school drop outs in return for tuition fees. Substandard mediocre University that survives by milking money off clueless international students who have no idea about the UK. Sure other universities carry out this practice too but they have the decency to at least maintain academic and teaching standards! Lecturers here are not even civilised and lack basic decency even forcing students to print off the lecture notes themselves to save pennies on printing credits even though some have paid over 12K for few weeks of classes. Some real rotten apples that work in this place but they do make the habit of hiring cheap labour by means of lecturers either under qualified or with bad language skills. Common problem reported by students is that the lecturers don't understand the students and student's have no idea on what the lecturers are talking about especially most from both sides are non native English speakers. A lot of cheating goes on....lecturers have to pass students who don't understand anything as their job is on the line if pass rates are low. People on sports scholarships needn't turn up either to class yet can still obtain full marks anyways. The admissions department heads act similar to con artists and prey on their cash rich foreign high school drop outs in order to carry out the biggest con of the century. Avoid at all costs as it will do more damage to your CV than contribute to your career hopes. P.S there's a lot of jealousy amongst small minded campus staff, they will illegally clamp your car and call the police on you if you park your car on legal empty campus parking or other spaces without double yellow lines. Just another method for them to bully students to cough up the money in a backwater region where people have had money problems all their lives. Do avoid also for the bad Omen...
