Thames Charters - Windsor Boat Hire — Attraction in Great Britain

If you don't own your own boat, this is the best way to see the Thames valley and the most cost effective. Previously we'd hired a pontoon type boat from elsewhere for a self-drive which then means one of the party has full responsibility for the boat and really can't relax too much whilst others do.

Anyway, 12 of us hired the boat (Domani) for the day which included the Skipper, Ingram. A 40 foot boat Domani was absolutely perfect for heading up one of the most picturesque stretches of the Thames from Windsor Racecourse Marina to Bourne End.

We took plenty of snacks and drinks with us and even managed a 30 minute pub stop at the Ferry in Cookham where Ingram skilfully managed to get us alongside and moor up. For a big boat that was hugely impressive and very much welcomed by us passengers. Along the way Ingram pointed out some famous properties as well as fascinating factoids about the river itself. All very chilled and relaxed.

Domani had everything we needed and there was plenty of room onboard for our cool boxes which were stuffed with ice cold drinks. If you are a large party definitely bring some ice since the fridge onboard obviously doesn't have a massive ice box.

For those who wanted to help out with ropes at locks etc, then under Ingram's watchful eye there was plenty of opportunity if you needed the practice!

The whole day was a great success and once Ingram had put Domani into berth at the Marina we then literally hopped off the jetty and into Go Go's waterside restaurant for an early supper at about 5.30pm.

We will definitely be using Thames Charters again and could not recommend them highly enough.

We chartered the boat for a 40th birthday celebration in August. We were a party of 6 adults and 4 kids, age range of 7 through to 72. We had a good start to the day due to the weather being glorious sunshine! From the moment we stepped onboard we were all smiling. Ingram was a fantastic host and made us all feel very comfortable. We sailed from Windsor heading west through places like Marlow and Bray. The scenery along the river was stunning. The accommodation on the boat was plentiful with, more than enough space for all of us with the favourite spot being up the front of the boat on the deck, looking at the amazing houses along the river and soaking up the sun! For a birthday celebration we couldn’t have asked for more. Such a memorable experience as a family that we hope to...

We booked with Thames Charters for a corporate event, and could not have had a better day! We were treated to perfect weather as we made our way up the beautiful stretch of river from Windsor to Cookham, where Ingram kindly dropped us off for our dinner plans.

Every aspect of our day was fantastic - Domani is a beautiful boat, and the perfect size for our group (of 10 people). Ingram and his partner Carrie were both incredibly easy to deal with both in terms of arranging (including helping us pick up food / drinks we had preordered from local companies) and on the day itself.
