I can’t say a big enough thank you to all of the staff at the Italian Villa. Their efforts made both the planning of our day and the experience of it an absolute joy. As a couple planning a wedding there was a lot that we were learning as we went through the process so to have the support of a team like that at the Villa was invaluable.
From the early enquiries to the general set up, then the fine tuning and detailed requests, and the running of the actual day, absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We asked for a lot of custom bits and bobs, had a lot of children to consider, and even had a slight upset on the day when the bride’s father forgot his suit trousers (causing a delay for a quick shopping trip), but everything was taken in their stride and was perfectly sorted for our special day.
Special mention #1 to Matt who was loads of help in the approach phases and who walked us through the day when we had our menu tasting, and when we separately met with our DJ on site. Really helpful and had some good advice for us and the DJ. Along with all the support by email from Cait and the team, as thoughts and questions occurred these steps made the planning easy.
On the day the venue looked and felt special, the service to both the bride and groom’s parties was fantastic and we were never left waiting to ask a question, as there were always folks on hand to help with any little thing. Whether that was checking on arrangements or sorting the Dutch courage! Special mention #2 to Grace who was absolutely exemplary in her event management both in meeting and running through with us the day before, and then so invaluably on the day. Both we and our guests were very grateful that she was all over everything, even finding time to set up the 20+ kids is a separate room during the speeches!
The food was amazing and praised by all. Difficult requests in the run up were sorted without quibble, and the staff even steered a difficult family member away from overtly fussy martyrdom in favour of a custom menu choice, at no extra cost to us. But special mention #3 is to all kitchen staff, thank you so much for the fab experience. Even speech nerves couldn’t stop plates...
Read moreMe and my husband just had our wedding celebration on 12th march 2022 at The Italian Villa with our original wedding being scheduled here for April 2020. Firstly thank you to the wedding planners of the villa, with so many postponements and having booked the venue back in 2018, we were looked after by a few different corodinators including Hannah and Lauren who particularly stood out to us. Our emails were always answered so promptly, nothing was too much trouble and they made sure we got everything we dreamed of! The venue speaks for itself as its absolutely stunning but we wanted to say such a massive thank you to the team at The Italian Villa! They clearly are professionals who do this every day! The day was so seamless, all our wishes were followed perfectly and we were both so relaxed, knowing we were in good hands and being so well looked after. Drew is an absolute asset to the team. He's so friendly, caring and has a cracking sense of humour and knows exactly how to shut a room of rowdy people up!! 🤣 The girls at the bar and serving over the evening were everyone's best friends! Nothing was too much trouble and they just seemed genuinely happy to be part of our day and had a good laugh with everyone. There were a couple of broken glasses over the evening and they came to our rescue and never made anyone feel bad about it (one was me as I'm known for being very clumsy- sorry about that!). They even made sure me and my husband went home with a little food parcel as we were too stuffed to have any buffet food during the evening! It's a beautiful venue with amazing staff and you guys really helped pull off our long awaited perfect day! We have nothing but praise as did all our guests and just want to say thank you from the bottom...
Read moreI just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at the Italian Villa for making our wedding day so special, it was everything we dreamed of and more! Hannah who stuck with us from the very beginning, pre-covid and multiple reschedules, and Lauren who looked after us on the day, both were absolutely fantastic. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing on the day as it was all handled out of sight by the team. And wow, the food was incredible, so many compliments from our guests. We still don’t know how the chef managed to make 80 perfectly gooey in the middle chocolate fondants! We did have a minor niggle which we don’t feel warrants dropping a star but worth mentioning. After food, we went out into the gardens to take photos, but when we returned all of the tables had been cleared off and they were already being set up for the wedding the day after! We understand September is the height of the busy season, however it felt very impersonal to be at your own wedding and walking into someone else’s! We had discussed the seating be left so that there was a place for guests looking for somewhere quiet to sit. It also meant the bridal bouquet was mixed up with the other centrepieces and was taken home by a guest by mistake. Again, this was very minor and didn’t have any impact on our enjoyment of the day, we are so happy that we stuck with our decision to get married at the Italian Villa through all of the covid madness!...
