Strolling through the quiet streets of Poole, I entered Compton Acres, a setting that seems suspended in time. Inside, I discovered a small gastronomic treasure: "The Italian Pantry", a delicatessen shop that's much more than just a point of sale, it's a real journey through authentic Italian flavors. As soon as I entered, I was enveloped in a warm and carefully curated atmosphere, almost magical, which reminded me of Capri. I found products of rare quality, some of which are even hard to find in Italy itself. Among the most exciting surprises: Sammontana ice cream, a dive into my youth. Rediscovering that authentic, creamy, and unmistakable flavor was like reliving a childhood summer. A rarity I didn't think I'd encounter here in the UK. Another item that struck me was extra-virgin olive oil presented in an ampoule so elegant it seemed like perfume, a special gift, and indeed I bought one for my best friend. What can I say, I am so exited to have found this place, Italian food is famous in the world, but is not enough to be Italian to be great. Excellence comes from the highest quality products, made in particular areas, where tradition is kept. The Italian Pantry has all those products; you can find an amazing vinegar that is 16 years old and taste nothing like the one in the supermarket; is sweeter, denser and is the time that has rested that makes the difference. An olive oil that has been squeeze at cold and preserve the original taste as the temperature has not changed it. Pasta trafilata al bronzo, that is made in a unique way to better keep the sauce. What a great experience.

I walked into the Italian Pantry and was greeted by an extremely knowledgable Italian lady. She knew the products and their origin. She was customer focussed and very friendly. I am a coeliac and their gluten free range was excellent and growing further. Various flavours of olive oil and balsamics. Keep the bottle and receive a discount on your refill. Collect your points for an additional discount. The ambience took me back to Italy. I worked in Milan for Amazon and it truly had the Italian atmosphere assisted by the Italian lady who worked there and we exchanged stories. Don’t miss it a real find, my wife loved the ability to taste the products prior to purchase.
