My visit to The Racecourse Park in Northampton on New Year's Eve for the fireworks display was a mixed experience. The park's ambiance was festive, with families and friends gathered to welcome the new year. The anticipation in the air added to the excitement.
The organization of the event, however, left much to be desired. The lack of clear signage and direction made finding a suitable viewing spot challenging. Additionally, the crowd size seemed to exceed the park's capacity, resulting in overcrowded areas that diminished the overall enjoyment.
Once the fireworks began, the display itself was impressive. The vibrant colors, synchronized explosions, and thematic sequences created a captivating spectacle. However, the duration of the show left something to be desired, as it seemed shorter than expected for a New Year's Eve celebration.
Facility amenities, such as food stalls and restroom facilities, were available but faced long queues, impacting the overall convenience of the experience. The park's cleanliness also suffered due to the large crowd, with litter becoming noticeable as the night progressed.
On a positive note, the community spirit was palpable, with people coming together to share the moment. The event's family-friendly atmosphere was evident as children and adults alike marveled at the fireworks.
In conclusion, The Racecourse Park's New Year's Eve fireworks display offered a visually stunning experience, but logistical challenges and overcrowding detracted from the overall enjoyment. With improved organization and crowd management, this event has the potential to be a standout celebration in...
Read moreIt's OK! It's a beautiful wide open space, with bus routes from all over town. So why just an ok review, well....there are local shops and fast food of all kinds close by but no public toilets that we could find. So, yes it's great in the summer for picnics but amenities are not great here. It is used to host some wicked events every year, the fireworks and fair gets packed out every year. The food, drink an music festivals usually provide toilet facilities themselves. Although the fireworks are free, the festivals are for ticket holders and are usually well maintained with security and any necessary road closures. Sadly it is not safe at night. There have been many incidents here and residents are often advised to walk the perimeter rather than through the middle. The wide open space makes it very dark at night as it is...
Read moreMy first visit for the Fireworks event. We had a newborn with us (suitable PPE applied) so had to stand away from the front of stage on the bank to the right. The band sounded really good from what wafted across but the guys fronting it didn't seem to woo the crowds and we couldn't hear them anyway 🤷♂️ The fireworks were pleasing and entertaining with a range of styles, colours, and effects. The concession stands were busy and whilst I don't know what they paid for their pitch, £30 for 4 hot dogs and a burger made for an expensive outing!!! I will consider alternative options next year before returning but well done to the organisers. I have run events myself and appreciate the...
