Came here for my dad’s birthday as a group of seven and whilst the food is great (the meat platter is fab), the atmosphere isn’t ideal. The music is so loud that it’s virtually impossible to hear the people you’re with. I feel like that they think if it’s not super loud then they’ll lose atmosphere but there’s a difference between having a nice civilised evening chatting with friends and family with live music whilst having great food vs feeling like you’re front row at a concert, stood next to a speaker on max volume with some food. This isn’t a place you come to talk to people across the table, you will only be left shouting to the person next to you so make sure your with someone you want to shout with all night. I looked across the restaurant and saw several tables where people weren’t speaking and you can understand why. It was also super hard to communicate with the staff - which is why we ended up with a random order of rice and a baklava that we didn’t order (this could be so easily resolved by having the music at a level where people can talk and actually hear each other). At the end once we’d finished we were super keen to wrap up as the loudness had become too much but we had to wait 15 minutes for the bill. Overall I’d come back for the food but they’d have to turn the music down a significant amount so I could actually talk to the people I’m with. Although great if you want a meal with someone you’ve not got...
Read moreA truly awful evening! The food was OK but the live band was far too loud! It registered above 80 dB at our table so I shudder to think how loud it was closer to the speakers. I asked them to turn it down but they wouldn't. I went outside to find half a dozen other noise refugees from our birthday group. We chatted in the street for a while before the freezing cold drove us back inside. I lost my voice trying to shout a conversation with the friend sitting next to me. I was unable to communicate at all with the friends on the other side of the table. I left the party early because I couldn't tolerate the noise any longer. I'm home now but my ears are still ringing. It should have been a good night out to celebrate a friend's 50th, but it felt like torture. If you want to avoid ear damage...
Read moreThis restaurant felt like home. Im mixed Albanian and Greek and i truly felt home. The servers were amazing and the emotions all around us were nothing but happiness and peace. The food was the most delicious thing i have ever had here in the uk. Any other greek restaurant doesn't compare, this is truly a gem of a place. I can't wait to come on a saturday night to experience the live music and lively atmosphere. I mentioned that it is my birthday ever so briefly and i got an amazing slice of dessert at the end of my meal and the amazing server Isabela sang for me. The music in the background started playing and i felt so special. The staff at Deja Vu truly make every single costumer feel special. I loved every single detail about the place and will definitely be...
