A nice enough small park, handy to the town if you want to pop in for a picnic lunch. Sadly, due to it's size, it's very noisy with traffic all around. The pool and lawns are pleasant and well kept and there is plenty of seating in both sunny and shady areas. The fruit trees on the upper level of terracing are healthy, however the ones on the 'ground' level are infested with some sort of parasite and need attention. Also, there is a shortage of flowering plants for pollinators which is a missed opportunity in this urban oasis. It could do with some input from local volunteers or guerilla...

Going to Castle Gardens should be a pleasant experience and it would be if the staff there were not so rude to people the way they talk to people is not acceptable. They tend to stand outside their office smoking A LOT  If someone had breathing problems i would advise them to stay clear. There are also too many dogs without leads and no one ever tells the owners to put the lead on their dog. Perhaps worst of all i have witnessed these men standing outside their office making fun of people which was terrible. There seems to be one person that is the leader and the...

Lovely historic spot for a short walk. Plenty of sympathetic restoration work has been done but it's a shame that the perron and the terraces have been padlocked shut for about a year now, due to Health and Safety concerns. Also, shame that there's no access from the gardens to the historic graveyard at the rear of the Cathedral. Some discreet information panels would be very welcomed in the gardens - there is an amazing history here: the 1641 battle and fire of Lisburn, the huge house, the second fire of Lisburn; even the walls...

✨ We had such a magical time wandering through the light trail in Castle Gardens! The display was absolutely stunning – so many beautiful sights that really brought the Christmas spirit to life. 🎄 The live music added a lovely atmosphere, and the mini Christmas Market was full of charming little stalls. The highlight for the kids was definitely Santa’s Grotto – such a warm and joyful experience! 🎅 Highly recommend a visit if you’re looking for some festive cheer this season. Can’t wait to go back next year!

A nice well maintained park. We visited on a Sunday evening and the park was well used by people of all ages and dog walkers. It felt safe to us. The paths are suitable for all mobilities. The historic monuments and gardens are well maintained. We saw no litter and no dog fouling. Please note that the gates are locked overnight. I recommend a visit to this park if you visit Lisburn and wish to take a short stroll in a pleasant location.

Would have been 5***** , but lack of parking and a coffee outlet nearby let it down (Covid-19). Anyone familiar with Paris will recognise the Wallace Fountain, Paris is littered with them thanks to Lisburn. The walk through the park is convoluted so although it has a small footprint the many paths through the grounds makes a nice 20-30 minute stroll. A hidden gem in Lisburn.
