Another Disappointing Experience
My recent visit to Lisburn Omniplex was a lesson in how to ruin what should have been an enjoyable night out. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of frustrating.
Firstly, the ticketing process was chaotic. Tried to book online and after submitting payment the site crashed, unsure if booking went through or not. When arrived at cinema got confirmation booking did not happen. The staff directed us to book using a self service kiosk. Soon realised it's actually more expensive to book on site than is online. Even a staff member sympathizes with the crazy logic. Then in a bizarre situation you can't join a queue for confectionery unless to prepay at kiosk. line moved at a snail’s pace, and when I finally reached the counter, the staff were clearly uninterested in their job. Having paid at the kiosk and taking the dispensed receipt, which apparently is not good enough the machines spit out 2 receipts when one should have been good enough.
The theater itself was recently cleaned or at least a sign said so. The seats were comfortable but had big patches of missing leather.
The cinema clearly hasn't improved since my last visit and will be awhile before I would consider coming again.
9 years ago I got totally conned yesterday by Omniplex the wife suggested we go to see the new Fast & Furious 7. Our local cinema had it showing however only seats available were pretty close to the screen. So thought we'd go further afield. Lisburn is usually our alternative when this happens. Popped onto the website to book and went through to process online and the price was £3.50 each, however I did see the option for 10% discount if I signed up for the MyOmniplex. Con 1 was when after I went through the registration process, the price on the website increased to included the 10% discount which meant I was still paying the £3.50. Con 2 after deciding to go ahead, I was met with a booking fee of 30 pence on each ticket. I know in future I personally would prefer to remain with Iveagh Cinema in Banbridge, cheaper and more convenient: Cheaper prices No Booking...

The toilets are awful here. The seat wasn't secured to the toilet so it slid around with you on it which is not a nice experience. And the toilet roll dispenser was broken so was hanging to one side. The toilet roll holder inside it was also broken so it was hard to get any out. It was one sheet at a time.
This place needs a massive overhaul. It is disgusting and has awful customer service. It's success is only because of where it is and the good businesses around it, KFC not included in that.
Aplogies if you thought I was ignoring you. I did get your email but I didn't reply as you had made your point, and I felt no matter what I would say would have only made you more annoyed and I didn't want to have a series of emails going back and forth as our stance remains the same with regards to no refunds.
He stopped replying after 1 email. When I asked why, this was his response. I feel this speaks volumes about this places attitude to customer service.
It's really rubbish, screen 10 has a loud air conditioning unit that ruins movies and gives you a headache. Also can be very cold.
Also the sound in screen 13 was very low when I last went and I had to ask for it to be turned up. Unacceptable from a cinema that this needs done.
When I complained about it I was told, "Some people find sound to loud, others too quiet, much the same with temperatures within the screens and we try our very best to cater for all senses."
I find this very patronising. I know when the volume is too low. I have been going to the cinema since it opened and have never had this problem. The sound was turned up for me when I had to go tell someone. So either they agreed with me that it was too low or they pander to the person complaining and potentially upset the others in the...
Read moreWent tonight to see Dora the explorer, we were asked when purchasing the tickets were we want to sit,we choose middle but in a cinema that was almost empty we had to walk past rows of empty seats& climb past two people who were already seated & comfortable waiting for the film to get to the seats that were allocated to us......why can you just not sit where there are available seats & were you choose to sit? Also I had my fone on silent & was waiting for a txt from a family member when it came through & as I read it I was tapped on the shoulder & asked not to use the phone,I get that it can annoy other people but it was 1txt! I looked around to see if I had annoyed anyone so i could apologise to them but the 3 rows behind me were empty & when i turned around 2 people in front of me both were on their phones,I felt like I was in school being told were to sit & being told off for using my phone for a message that couldn't have waited to be answered so needless to say I won't be back & I would not recommend it to anyone...
