Talacre Beach is a breathtaking slice of the North Wales coastline, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and peaceful charm. As you arrive, the wide expanse of golden sand stretches invitingly, making it ideal for long, leisurely walks or simply sitting back and enjoying the sound of the waves crashing gently against the shore. The beach is wonderfully clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded, even on busier days. One of Talacre Beach’s most iconic features is the striking lighthouse that stands proudly near the sand dunes. Its tall, white structure contrasts beautifully against the deep blue of the sky and the shimmering sea, creating an impressive and picturesque sight that’s a favorite among photographers and visitors alike. The surrounding dunes add a sense of natural seclusion, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere and making it feel like a retreat from the everyday hustle. The area is perfect for families, couples, and solo explorers, with opportunities for beach games, kite flying, or simply strolling along the water’s edge. Wildlife enthusiasts will also enjoy spotting seabirds and, on occasion, seals in the distance, adding a touch of wonder to the visit. Talacre Beach combines the timeless appeal of sandy shores with the charm of its historic lighthouse, offering an experience that is both relaxing and visually stunning. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind, breathe in the fresh sea air, and soak in the beauty of the Welsh coast.

We visited for the day from the midlands. Approx 2hr 10min from M5 J3. Free parking is provided right by the beach. We arrived at 9am on a bank holiday and the car park was empty. Heading back to the car at 12 there wasn’t a free parking space and the masses were arriving in droves so I’d arrive early especially in the holidays. The beach is massive and is soft sand/mud with some pebbles with the dunes as a back drop. Most people congregate and sit close to the lighthouse. If you head to the left or right the beach really opens up and there’s loads of flat, smooth people less space which is great for walking the dogs. Yes, this is a dog friendly beach all year round! Watch out for for the tides though. You could easily get cut off. Some idiots were swimming even though the red flag was clearly flying at the entrance to the beach. There is soft mud and strong tides so swimming isn’t advised. That’s their look out though I guess. There was no lifeguard on duty either. Amenities, None really although if you walk out of the car park away from the beach you can buy ice cream etc. No toilets that I saw although it is stated that there are some on station road. The dunes were ok, I did collect my fair share of McDonald’s rubbish and plastic bottles from within them as we walked back to the car but that’s most places you go these days, still sad to see all the same hence why I picked it all up. Overall a really good half day here. We’ll definitely be back again.

I personally love this beach, it’s filled with memories of mine and of history. I have had many memories at this beach as I used to go all the time with my father when I was younger and one of the main things I remember is the lighthouse and there being a mass of water around it but there was lit candles under the water next to the lighthouse, which was really strange. What I mean by memories in the history sense, I mean cause during World War II, this beach had planes that would test their guns going along it and if you go with the right equipment nowadays you might be able to find bullet casings and all sorts. Quite interesting. There is also small bunkers that you might find within the sand dunes and there is also one that is just to the left of the lighthouse that is upside down. If you read up on this place you will find there is a lot of history behind it. I will add a few pictures of one of the times I went here.

We visited talacare beach for a day trip out to the seaside with my 3 year old daughter and 2 year old niece. The girls absolutely loved the beach, paddling in the sea and we made some lovely memories! It's a nice beach that's within a 1.5 hour drive from home. The only downsides are; parking - when it's busy I can imagine it's difficult to park and would leave quite a walk with your stuff. We went midweek in term time, so most people there, were young families such as ourselves and we couldn't park on the closet car park, which meant we had around a 5-10 minute walk with our stuff (not a major problem for us) and it was reasonably priced. I found the beach a little pebbley towards the top and when we arrived the tide was in, so had to navigate through the rocky patch to get into the sea again, this didn't effect our day, it just my personal preference is a sandy beach. There is local amenities close by - ice parlour, pubs, shops for beach equipment and drinks, a little bakery, public toilets and fish and chip shop. The chip shop wasn't open for the entire day we were there and the bakery closed by the time we left the beach around 4:30pm. The toilets are free to use and are exactly what you would expect from a public toilet... Smelly, but serve the purpose. The local arcade 1/2, the other wasn't open, wasn't much to rave about and alot of the stuff wasn't working or just gobbling your coins but the girls enjoyed it. Overall we had a lovely family day out, and would return...
