Some good birds to see here but they can be pretty far away so you need some really good lenses. Lots of curlew calling, which I rarely hear so that was nice. I would say though, don't go thinking this is your traditional RSPB reserve because it isn't. An RSPB site, but free access and no visitor centre. On the grounds of a demolished colliery with a hide looking out on the Dee estuary and a trail/cycleway with easy access. Forms part of the coastal path so also access to the beach. Surrounded by a gas pipeline shore station and lots of static holiday caravans.
