Great quirky pub with very interesting decor...only went in early evening so didnt get to hear any live music but was totally blown away by the quirky seats, doors and unusual urinals. Staff were lovely and were quite happy to indulge me and let me go in to the gents when it was empty to photograph the unusual urinals. We had fish and chips which was lovely albeit slightly over priced. But for me having not been present for the live music I would recommend this pub for the decor and unusual items in it. There is a large car park and it is a stones throw away from the beach.

Really cool pub and restaurant, with lovely, friendly staff, and in a great location. We ordered food, and the portions were really generous. The drinks were good too. After a windy walk to Talacre beach, we returned for some warm drinks, and the coffees were lovely, too. We loved the decor, with all of the knicknacks throughout, and it was decorated ready for Christmas, too. We parked right next to the pub, so didn't have to walk far. It was nice to see that dogs are welcome, too. This would be a great venue for a party!

We had an incredible time at The Point Bar & Restaurant! The decor is stylish creating a wonderful atmosphere that’s perfect for a relaxing meal or a night out. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the craft pizza, which was a real highlight. The portions were large and satisfying, and the prices were very reasonable. The menu offers a great variety of options, and the drinks – including a great selection of beers – were top-notch. Overall, a fantastic spot, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Check your food is cooked through

Wow… this could be a fantastic place. Great decor inside. Menu needs improving with more choice but not the end of the world.

The staff however… and food is a different story. The gent behind the bar was quite pleasant , the manager (blonde short hair) I have never come across anyone so rude in all my life.

We bought the children chicken in a basket and fish fingers and chips.

The food didn’t take that long to come and it arrived as it was advertised in a basket. My daughter is only 4 so it needed cutting up and no doubt cooling down… No, the chicken was freezing cold in the middle.

I went back inside to the desk to be greeted, sorry not greeted stared at. I told her the chicken was cold in the middle. She took the basket off me and walked into the kitchen. No apology no words no nothing… a few minutes later she came back out and just stared about me, so I said so what is happening. She said the chef is doing some fresh , I went onto to say you need to ensure it is cooked through and piping hot. Again she just looked at me.

I came back to the table in shock. Told my friend who I was with and she shared the fish fingers between the girls. Advised me not to let my daughter have the chicken.

A few minutes passed and a young girl bought the food out. Told me they had put some extra on there. I advised I didn’t need that she is a toddler I just want the chicken cooked through and hot. I asked for her to wait whilst I checked it… lo and behold it was cold again! I couldn’t believe it. I told the girl to take it away and asked for a refund. She snapped at me and said it wasn’t me that cooked it. I explained I never said it was but I am not serving this to my daughter now take it away . She said I’ll get my manager but I said leave it whilst we eat our food. Luckily we ordered the Juke burgers from the hut on the same premises (amazing by the way) the chef was really nice and friendly.

So we continue to eat our burgers and then both the manger and the young girl come out. The death stare is there again. I look up and she said you want to see me. I said no I dont, I’m trying to eat.

She went onto say the chicken is pre-cooked you don’t have to worry you won’t get ill . It’s not like raw chicken. I had no words… my friend took over and explained again… still no apology. It was like it was my fault.

We went onto say you have to cook it through to kill the bacteria. My daughter is 4 she could have been poorly from it.

She then just said we have checked the probes and they are working fine… I told her well they are not working fine. I have checked them with my finger , the chicken is cold in the middle. Not warm cold… she wouldn’t back down. Couldn’t get the fact that the chicken should be cooked through and piping hot.

She then came out with my refund (even though we asked to be left so we could eat in peace) and admitted the probe was broken!

Wow … to finish still no apology!

What could be a fantastic place, very disappointing and will not be returning. Highly recommend the duke...

Horrible experience. The owners of this establishment need to complete customer service training.

One morning I called in for a drink and to use their loos. Whilst paying for my drink I checked whether it was OK that I had left my car on their car park without paying the charge since it would only take me a couple of minutes to finish my drink. The female bar staff member confirmed this by nodding and saying "I suppose so". I quickly drank up and vacated the car park as promised.

Fast forward 23.5 hours and I decided to go here for another drink. Naturally, I left my car on the car park whilst I went for a quick drink, assuming this would be acceptable since it had been the previous day. This time I was desperate to use the loo so I went to the bathroom first. When I exited the loo I was rudely accosted by a grey haired middle aged man and a female member of bar staff who expressed their utter shock I was in the pub. They inquired how I had been able to enter the pub and told me they were closed until 11am. It was 10.45am and I told them the doors were open so I came in. They spoke to me in an aggressive manner as if to suggest I had broken in! After a short and heated discussion the older grey haired man asked if that was my car he had just put a parking notice on. When I went outside I had a rude note on my car demanding payment for parking. I had only been on the car park for less than 5 minutes, the time it takes to park the car, walk inside and then use a loo.

I was intending on having a drink and even lunch here but after the way I was treated I decided to get out of the area altogether. This is no way to treat paying customers. I'm certain the bar staff would have remembered me since I had been twice on the previous day.

In the extremely unlikely event I visited again I would use the free 1hr parking spaces nearby on Gamfa Wen or use the Gamfa Wen Car Park which is cheaper at only 20p for 2 hours. This way I wouldn't have to listen to the obnoxious owners of The Point Bar and Restaurant!

Ps. If the owners read this then I would suggest you keep your doors locked when you are closed like most normal...

On appearance the point looked beautiful, our intention for the day was to take our son n puppy to the beach then have some lunch and drinks to finish off a lovely day. However when we arrived we saw signs saying £5 parking and to pay at the outside bar , I went to cue and there were a couple in front of me, when the man came out to take payment he asked them for there reg number of there car, because the lady couldn't remember it straight away he then looked at me and said do you know yours ,I instantly gave it him I then presented my bank card ,he then immediately became hostile and said its cash only, I apologised and asked if there was a cash point near by he said no and said give me your card and il try.all the time he was getting louder and more aggressive, the card machine failed because of the WiFi connection he then shouted your the tenth person today and he stormed off towards the main bar/restaurant he looked back and shouted you have to come in here.i said not to worry I will go elsewhere. he said no its to late come in here. We went in and the machine worked, I was so uncomfortable I found myself appoligising again .he just continued to shout saying it should be cash only.when i walked out the few other customers he did have looked utterly shocked and refered to him as the angrest man in the world . I have never met anyone this rude in my life and how the business survives with him as the front man is beyond me .....i will never return and i will make sure i let everyone i know not to waste there time there. I am beyond dissopointed and to be honest embarassed that i allowed someone to talk to me in...
