This is a well- considered and well-thought out RSPB site. I’ll go in order of a general visit: Parking: free and tonnes of it! Gates close at 17:00 Reception and shop: there’s the usual knock knacks like books and keyrings but there’s a wide range of these, and some high quality things like good chocolates and great gift ideas. There’s also lots of bird feeders, seed, binoculars and monoscopes and such. Plus, the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable! Next there’s a small sandpit playground for small kids, a climbing frame and slide etc. and this sits close to the cafe. In the cafe, they serve ready made sandwiches and lots of cakes and biscuits, all homemade by a local business I think. Theres nice views out and it’s a good spot for a cheapish drink (two lattes and a slice of very nice Bara Brith was £8) Walking around the RSPB there’s good paths all around, lots of hides, lots of foliage and when you get round to the lake, lots of open space and great views to Snowdonia. Some parts seem a little shabby in the bushes and round the paths, but most of it is beautiful and rustic! A walk around takes about an hour at a leisurely pace, stopping at the hides, etc. We loved it! If this helped, give it a like so others see it 😉

UPDATED MAY 2025 Blue bage bays near entrance and book shop. Staff are mostly helpful and always friendly! I've been on different weekdays as well as weekend days, and the only negative I have had unfortunately was when i took my mum, they forgot to give me the code for the gate on the coastal path and i forgot to ask at the desk when we first entered and showed our membership cards, it meant we had to turn around and walk back when my mum was a bit tired. The toilets have been in working order and kept clean on the visits I have used them. The cafe serves a good coffee and a nice selection of cakes, and they also have a small selection for dietary needs as well. Alternative milks are also available. Had a very blustery walk about, but it didn't put the birds or wild horses off! There was a very friendly Robin bobbing about that my mum had a lovely encounter with! We had a hot drink in the cafe after our walk to warm up. The new build is a good size and seems to offer the basics! There are 6 toilets near the cafe, unfortunately 3 of these were out of order when we were there so there was a bit of a queue for the loo, which wouldn't have been so bad if the wind didn't funnel down that bit!

Conwy is an absolutely incredible reserve. We saw all sorts of birds from Egrets, Geese, Ducks, Swallows and even Robins, where one sat on my hand to eat. So adorable. There were ponies all over that were beautiful too. There is just too many to name. The walk round is great as its in about a two mile circle. If it has rained can be a little muddy though. Nearer to the centre the paths are better and disabled/wheelchair friendly so you can see the smaller birds and a couple of the hides. The hides are dotted all the way around the walk and great to observe the birds. There is a large car park, disabled friendly. Closes at 5pm With a lovely cafe that serves hot food, teas and coffees. There are loos that were very clean. Also a wonderful shop that had some lovely gifts as well as useful books and bird accessories. The staff are so friendly and helpful. That will answer all your questions and help guide you. They have all the knowledge and were just so kind. We loved our day here and will be going back.

This réservé has all the services you require from Tea to toilet and a cafe situated in such a way you can bird watch while having a cuppa! There is ample parking and because its just off the A55 it's signposted and easy to find. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly and have good knowledge of the area, goings on and up to date of recent visits of nature to look out for. The walk is around a fresh-water lake which is dotted with hides (some open some completely enclosed) which are available all year round. The lakes have islands which act as good havens and attract many aquatic species. There are ponies roaming so please ensure you close gates and there some feeders situated which help when your trying to observe some of the smaller birds. It's a great walk and well worth a visit if you enjoy estuary and freshwater nature.

A little gem of a place. Part of the walk along the Conwy estuary runs along from Conwy via the railway foot bridge. Once at the small car park at the RSPB entrance you can enter via the gate ( if you have paid and obtained the code) and take a leisurely amble along the estuary and eventually into the heart of the wetlands of the RSPB. Watch out for ponies as they live hear, but you might find them shy. You can visit each of the bird- watching points and lookouts. There is also a wooded walkway area that really feels like you are in another world… especially in the late evenings. Well worth it… and as it is on my doorstep I shall be heading out this way many more times. Another local gem of a walk!

RSPB's only man made nature reserve after they saved the land from commercial builds planned. The main reserve is lake with walkway around it taking an hour at most to walk. There are various hides and viewpoints on route to let you stop and take in the wonderful wildlife, which, believe it or not, includes some ponies! We had a packed lunch but there is a cafe and we'll stick RSPB shop on site. We took our teenaged kids who enjoy it as you finish the loop you get rewarded with fantastic views of Conwy Castle. Well done all at RSPB for a great reserve. 😁👍🏻
