SMASHED — Restaurant in Wales

Went on opening night at 5pm on opening. Bit chaotic as very little space to wait inside takeaway and burger took 35 minutes. Older woman walking around was disorganised and shouting at the staff in front of us. However it was opening night and the Burgasm burger at £11 was worth the money. Burger, steak, pulled pork and fried onions genourously loaded on the bun. Saturday, 4 days later at 6.30 pm went to get a burger again. We were told there were no beef burgers left, at a burger takeaway and we would have to have chicken burgers. So OK we went along with it to be told the prices were now £1 more expensive for each item as they were too cheap. Apparently that information was on Instagram and not the price advertised. Believing it would be worth it we went along with it at 2 burgers, loaded fries and 2 cans of pop for £36. Then came the information it would be an hour and we would be called to say it is ready. After an hour no call so back to the takeaway to be told it was nearly ready. 25 minutes later it was ready. No apology for the delay and this burger was no better than KFC which would have been half the price. Poor service and changing prices because you feel like it. Good luck if you think that is how a business will survive. Hungry Cow is coming to Llandudno so who knows. Such a shame after...

Very disappointing, we spend a lot of money with Smashed. Today we received what appears to be frozen chicken nuggets instead of what are usually massive chicken tenders with a lovely crispy coating. I did call up but was told it's probably because the boxes are smaller 😅 (that would have the opposite affect) no.....they're tiny with barely any coating and the coating that is on it is soft. I just paid £8 for 5 chicken nuggets...... madness. I was told next time I come in I can have a free box... but we order online .....so I'm not sure how that will work. I've attached a picture to confirm I wasn't being deceived by a small box 😅

Edit..... it gets worse.....I've just opened my "triple cheeseburger with nacho sauce" to find it's just a plain triple with no cheese or nacho cheese sauce , burnt bun and a burnt mass of meat that's just falling apart into tiny bits.

Whoever is in the kitchen is having an absolute shocker, I've just spent £30 on utter rubbish, even mcdonalds can muster up something better than this and that's saying something.

After spotting this place on tiktok we planned a day trip to justify the 1 & 1/2 hor drive. It was most definitely worth it! I got a beefburger with mac and cheese (this wasnt exactly on the menu but they were more than happy to accommodate) and it was absolutely fantastic. The mac and cheese sauce was so smooth and had a little bit of a kick to it, the burger was cooked and smashed to perfection! Together they were divine, best burgers I've had in a good few years! My son had the kids cheeseburger meal and it was a decent sized smashed burger, in his words "mum, no offence but this is even better than your homemade burgers. It's the best burger I've ever had" and he's most certainly right! The place itself is a small takeout, however, there are a couple of raised bars to sit at inside if you want to eat in like we did. The staff are wonderfully friendly, very accommodating, checked in with us regularly and definitely added the personal touch to the trip. 10/10 would recommend.
