Allen's Gardens — Attraction in London

I used to live in Bethune Rd in the 70s & 80s and these gardens were private then. My good friend Jenet MacCloud lived in one of the big white houses on Manor Rd which surround the Gardens. We used to play and pick Honesty and even made a camp in one of the empty flats. It truly was a secret garden then. Happy times!! A very nice garden and tastefully incorporated children's play areas. Lots of little gardens, seating areas and children's play zones spread out on both sides of a central path. It is a hidden gem behind some victorian terrace houses. On the day I visited some of the hedges/bushes were a bit over grown and the whole garden was ready for a tidy/trim, but overall very good with just the odd bit of mess left by thoughtless...

Really like this little park. It's a nice short cut from Manor Rd to Stamford Hill. Loveliest in spring with its pretty flowers and winter when you have the best view of birds and wildlife. The undergrowth is quite littered and I recommend keeping your dog's on leads as there are lots of kiddies running about the place. Could do with more bins and more regular cleaning...
